I just found another one... 1043freefm.com

Registered by CBS just this past Tuesday...

CBS currently owns 104.3 outlets in:
Austin (Urban)
Chicago (Jack)
Detroit (Oldies)
Kansas City (Country)
West Palm Beach (AC)

Now then, process of elimination:

Chicago and Detroit already have Free-FM'ers...
Austin - Beat is consistently in the Top 10, and the market's only urban outlet...
West Palm - NO WAY they blow up the successful WEAT...

Which brings us to Kansas City... And again, as previously reported here earlier in the week, 1021freefm.com was registered by CBS. They also own a 102.1 FM in Kansas City.

CBS owns two of the three country stations in KC... Yet here, KBEQ is the one that's doing well - topping the most recent book, in fact... Possibly a frequency move?

A friend and I have been talking about this. We think it was a response to the AllAccess post on 1021freefm.com. It was registered shortly after the announcement of the 1021freefm.com site being registered hit the trades. It's also interesting that the OM/PD of KSRC was let go today, and a friend of mine who works there was told to start looking for a job.

Interesting. It appears that Free FM is headed to Kansas City, then. But you'd think that CBS Radio would buy the domain name of their lower-rated country station in Kansas City to throw speculators off.

Knowing that the CBS IT contact has done this before, could the company have meant to register another website (i.e. 1041freefm.com, 1045freefm.com, 943freefm.com)?

Beats me... Remember not too long ago, they registered 1014freefm.com... 1014! Unless CBS is planning to launch the format in England, it's clearly a mistake of haste... Although I wouldn't be surprised if the 1043 domain was registered just for speculation and buzz's sake...

But then, how would you explain this: If you go to freefm1021.com, you get the same pre-splash page that visitors of 923freefm.com got a week before the New York station's official launch...
______________

Also registered on Tuesday: 93freefm.com. Makes the guessing game a little more vague, but this domain selection is most likely a decoy; 94freefm.com was registered around the same time as 941freefm.com, and it just redirects to WYSP's website.
______________

Could that one be referring to WZGC 92.9/Atlanta? They had a pretty bad last book, or so I've heard.

They're the Atlanta Falcons flagship, right? I always thought a AAA station with NFL rights seemed like a weird combo... Curtains for Dave?
______________

Possibly. I don't think they're doing well.
