Copied and pasted from the country classic forum:

Les Acree had a massive stroke Sunday morning in Memphis, TN. He's in ICU at Baptist Hospital there... they don't know the extent of damage yet... He was brought out of a drug-induced coma Monday, and was able to recognize his son Ryan Monday afternoon, althought he was unable to speak. He's currently running a fever, and that's keeping the docs from relieving the blockage that caused the stroke.

Please keep Les and his family in your prayers...

I did learn a while back that Les had just moved back to Memphis and was not in the best of health. Prayers are with his family.

I visited Les this evening at 6 pm central. He is still in ICU. He is off the ventilator, but is taking oxygen and being fed through a tube.. He is awake and was aware that I was there. In fact, he smiled when his brother told him I was there.

I don't know the extent of the damage. His brother edidn't want to do a lot of talking in front of Les. When I know more, I'll pass on to all.
