I just recently noticed a new voice in the mornings on The Buzzard

This past week, I've heard a new voice on The Buzzard since "John Boy and Billy" are no longer on 100.3.

Whats the deal with this? and Who is the morning guy?

Matt Pencola is one of the funniest persons I've ever met. Most people who've met him or have seen him at live broadcasts/station events will agree with me. Doing the local end of John Boy & Billy versus hosting his own morning show always seemed like a waste of a very talented personality. While there's no guarantees that the show will be successful (though I am very optimistic that it will be,) I'm just glad he's finally been given an opportunity to prove himself. I also understand Crash will be part of the show as well (so expect lots of talk about boobs, beer, and the Dallas Cowboys...hopefully more focus on boobs & beer than the Cowboys .) Best of luck to the new Buzzard morning show and hopefully this move will be a permanent one!

I'm a Matt fan, as well. I always thought he could handle a morning show and I'm glad he's getting the chance. He has natural talent and with some coaching and encouragement could develop into greatness.

I am rooting for Pencola in a big way and I hope CC promotes the show HARD. I would love to see R92 get a little nervous. If you chip away at the AM numbers on R92 then the whole thing FALLS.

Well, I wouldn't get too excited about CC promoting the show. That will never happen. But, I think you're right that he might be able to chip away at R92's morning show. Go Mattie!

Bob and Tom are now on The Buzzard.


B&T did well on former Raleigh classic rock WRDU before mgmt started to send WRDU in a classic hits direction, and also didn't promote B&T as well as they had in the past under a former PD (Bob Edwards now at KQRC/KC). Edwards had B*T and WRDU #1 M25-54 before he left March 2003. Mgmt to follow changed direction musically and the station started to slide, B&T as well.

B&T were tried on the original "Buzzard", WMMS/Cleveland, last year... they bombed as Cleveland requires a live, local AM show. B&T lasted all of six months.

B&T, historically, do well in "northern"markets.

Anything is better than JB&B. R92 management has always been afraid of B&T and I hope those fears are well-founded. I am pessimistic, however.

Is it confirmed that B&T are on the Buazzard? I heard a local guy sounding pretty good on 100.3 today! I know he was local cause he was talking about Marcia Gam. He was good but I only heard one guy not a team like they said it was gonna be. I hope they keep it local and live and local!

It's perfect that they are being alloted a non-rated time period because that'll be the kind of ratings they'd pull.... Although it WOULD be the perfect lead-in to the Chris and Crash fest at Prick Broadcasting.... gawd I LOVE that company!

Bob and Tom are based at WFBQ in Indianapolis. I think they became popular with the college kids at Indiana University in Bloomington and as these kids graduated they had a ready made audience throughout the nation. It couldn't have hurt.

I used to try and listen when they were on WRDU, and I found I could only take so many of the same retreaded body part/sex jokes and songs early in the morning.
