I know it's just a summer 12+ trend but...

I'm surprised at the strength of Warm, you'd think in office listening would drop.
Maybe dropping the "Jazz" from Smooth is working.
When the Mariners suck, KJR goes begging in summer.

#19 KIRO FM

Well hello cowboys ;D
Anyone happen to notice what is happening in the Country war in Seattle in the last couple of months. Seems one station that most on this board thought dead is comin back to life ::)

Anyone happen to notice that KIRO-FM and KIRO-AM are now both lower than KOMO-AM ??? Does that mean the FM is taking audience from the AM and KOMO wins ::) KBSG had bigger numbers than either KIRO signal. Makes ya wonder :-\

KISW, THE WOLF, The Mountain. Entercom holds on to three of the top five spots 25-54. Yeeehawwwwwww. KISW and THE WOLF are number one and two 18=34 moving ahead of KUBE ::) What happened to MOVIN? 17th??? At least they beat KBKS that didn't even show up in the top twenty for the third month in a row. :-\ Guess they miss Steve Rivers :'(

Props to Entercom especially KISW and DA WOLF howlllllllllllwwwwwwwwllllllll.

The trend is for J, J, and A. KIRO didn't flip to FM until Aug, so most of this trend is still KBSG. You'd have to look at August only for the strength/weakness of KIRO FM. KIRO only has the fall book to rack up AM + FM numbers, then the simulcast will stop once they get the Mariners and switch the AM to sports.

In the end, KOMO probably won't do better than KIRO FM, but will KIRO FM be a top 5 station overall? We'll have to wait to see.

Always a treat to read these posts. Lets see, where to begin:

1. The rolling average is June, July, August. The extrap is August only. The 25-54 numbers quoted are the August extrap only. On the rolling average your winners remain KMPS, KZOK, KISW, KRWM, KCMS,KPLZ, KMTT, KJAQ and KKWF. For the last two extraps KKWF looked very good, but the previous two had them around 15th.

2. KIRO-AM increased slightly in the August extrap, KIRO-FM debuts as a mid- one share 25-54 in the August extrap. KOMO increased as well in the August extrap. No AM does very well in prime demo, except the Mariners at night on KOMO.

3. KKWF has had two very good months 25-54 and 18-34, while KMPS has not. If KKWF has a third good month they will indeed beat KMPS 18-34 and 25-54 for the Summer.

4. KRWM is having a very good summer compared to a year ago. KPLZ is slightly up from a year ago as well. KWJZ is off which may explain KRWM's stronger than usual Summer.

5. KQMV had a very bad extrap for August while KBKS is way off and has been down for four straight months.

Entercom does have a lot to be happy about. KISW and KMTT are solid and KKWF has had two good months. Summer books tend to be ignored for the most part since air-talent is on vacation and listener habits change. Fall will be the first big test for KIRO-FM.

And that's what makes threads like this even more laughable. As for TIFM - that person should be arrested on charges of emoticon abuse.
