I like Movin 107.5

I know I may be in the minority on this board, but I like Movin. The imaging is bad, but the music mix does not bother me that much. I would take some of the Madonna songs out of the rotation. I let my 10 year old son listen to it. Its a WHOLE lot better than that crap they play on KKDA-FM and KBFB. Now if KRNB and KSOUL would add some upbeat music on the drive home.

K-SOUL needs to dump Michael Baisden. They should've never got rid of Kevan Browning in favor of this clown.

I agree. Get a local personality, and bring back the "5 O'Clock Traffic Jam"

I agree. Why not do that type of show locally. I think the concept of Love, Lust & Lies is a great one, just do it on a local scale.

Jedi, notice how the topic got switched... and rapidly, I might add... from "I like MoVin"?! Maybe that should tell your allegiance something. Just a thought.

I like MOViN, but I would like them alot more if they had personalities. Local personalities.

This station is the BOSS! Finally, no repeat music that really sounds great and feels good. I move more now, and started dancing again. Shake that groove thang!

Something tells me yo're MALE not Female ;)

K-Soul is finally doing what several folks on the board have suggested for eons now...incorporating some contemporary black gospel and positive messages into their playlist (or Heaven forbid, literally, making a full-time format out of it, a la ABC's former "Rejoice" format.) Looking at the ratings, it's helped. They might hit a 2.0 for the first time in the next book since dumping Jammin' Oldies. They will likely inherit some of the disenfranchised black listeners from The Oasis as well.

Movin' is looking a whole lot like Jack-FM in theory. Programmed nationally instead of locally, and never tweaked or updated or "grown" to better serve its listeners...just a cookie-cutter, one-size-fits-all format that will likely peak immediately from the curiousity factor, then trail off from a sub-2.0 to a 1.0 until someone wakes up in three years and decides to change it (remember Wild 100.3?) As for Jack, "Playing What We Want" means to me that you don't care what "I" want. Pretty arrogant, if ya ask me.

Reply to DFW Deb. You're saying Movin is "no repeat music?" Are you sure we're talking about the same station here? First of all, yes, they play some good music, and I stress the word "some." Fifty percent of it makes any adult who likes dance music absolutely cringe and get outta there. But as far as your repeat comment goes, how often are you listening? Their rotation is utterly RIDICULOUS. I hear they play 300 songs, (which is about HALF of what they should be playing with that kind of format), but as far as actual SONGS PLAYED EVERY DAY, I'm hearing about 100 in hot rotation. They need to expand drastically or the poor numbers they already have will get worse VERY quickly, and they'll be gone a year from now. By that time they'll be running out of places to put Nikki Nite. They might actually have to do what they would have done if the Oasis didn't go away to create a new station...show her the door.

CBS loves their assembly line formats. They forgot a lot of perspective radio listeners don't.

Where the h e l l is the air talent?!?! I'm starting to think that the problem is NOT too many chefs in the kitchen..

...i think the chefs forgot how to make the meal.

This format BEGS for high-energy air talent that puts a smile on the face of the station. Like this ;D

this is big market radio, right?

Boingo:

You speak the truth. I would go even further to say it's more than 50% that people who like dance music cringe at what movin mixes.

You must remember Nikki Nite is only following Kurt Johnson and the Consultants tired old school formatics. IE:

Certain Power Songs in Hot Rotation. Certaion songs at certain times. Your basic 300 song list. All the usual tired and questionable at best scientific formulas. And please don't even get me started on their boggus research. I know I'VE BEEN THERE.

It's bound to be another DALLAS JACK-FM. Inconcise research, bad LOCAL programming of presntation and music. I give it a 2.1 peak and a final 1.7 sometime next year. With that kind of signal, That's Unacceptable.

Yeah, Boss, but look around... unfortunately, regretfully and painstakenly... that is Dallas :(
