I Look To You

What do you all think of Whitney Houston's new song "I Look To You?" Think it will do anything for AC? We talked about how established artists have trouble having success with new songs with the format.

I really like it. It aligns well with a lot of her other songs that AC likes (I Will Always Love You, I Have Nothing to name 2), and is along the lines of something you would expect from her....not like "Just Go" from Lionel Richie or something along that line. It just sounds like something AC would be crawling on.

It'll be interesting to see what this one does. It is certainly better, IMO than a lot of this other stuff lately that manages to get airplay on AC.

I'd just like to see people forget about both Whitney Houston ad Lionel Richie.

I heard "Ballerina Girl" on my Dial Global standards station. Not really inappropriate, just annoying with the keyboard. I do like "Truly" and a few of his Commodores songs. And the duet "Endless Love". But how many times must we put up with "Penny Lover" or "Hello"? I suppose "Stuck on You" isn't too bad. Oh, wait, he did "You Are" and "My Love". Those are pretty good. At least I haven't heard the likes of "Say You, Say Me" lately.

They don't play Whitney much, for which I'm grateful, and what they do play are two of the three songs of hers that I like: "Saving All My Love for You" and "Greatest Love of All".

I've never heard them play her duet with Teddy Pendergrass "Hold Me".
