I Love 94.7 The Wave!

Missed the point David ------- Dude in video is lucky if he is 35.

I got that point... my observation was about the "45+" comment when 45-54 is a highl desired demo.

See how passionate that age group is for a format that you say does not survive in that demo.

I see one person, with an unknown agenda but a way-beyond-average-listener knoledge of ownership, format names and such. I do not see how an "age group" is represented by one person with an agenda.

Latest monthly ratings for L.A.

The Wave is #6. OK, I don't have access to the 25-54 demos, but #6 overall is as good as The Wave has done since People Meters debuted. I can't believe this ratings increase hasn't include some listeners under 55.

And again, this is a station that's playing three jazz instrumentals per hour plus many jazz-influenced vocalists that KOST would never touch. (I just heard them play Stan Getz & Astrid Gilberto's "Girl from Ipanema.")

...for the 3rd or 4th time this week. (sorry... couldn't help myself). I do know what you're getting at, though. Jhani is using the "illusion of hip" to differentiate KTWV from KOST, which is fine for the handful of jazz artists who made his cut. Hopefully that will make those songs pop out a little stronger for the listeners and translate into some sales. I am also looking forward to seeing how they did in the demos, although I am not sure how playing a 45-year old song like "Girl" is going to attract a lot of folks under 55.
