I LOVE JACK FM!

I like the new Jack FM. Some of the stuff they've played, I haven't heard in ages. Foo Fighters- My Hero, stuff like that. However, I have one complaint. I think the 100.5 frequency is really bad. It sounds distorted, and scrunched together like AM radio. Has anyone else noticed this? At first I thought itw was just my radio, but then I listened to 95.5, 102.7, 93.1 and 94.1 and realized that they sound fine and that there is something odd with 100.5. Someone at Infinity should fix this and I would consider Jack FM my favorite station in the Valley.

I think Star should go Country. As a matter of fact, they are STUPID if they don't go country against KWNR. KWNR is a very VERY weak country station who dosn't deserve to be #1. I'll bet a wonderful country station that knows how to do it right would split KWNR right in half. They should be "Super Star Country 102.7" or "Vegas Country... the new 102-7 The Wolf" What do the rest of you think?

Thanks to Infinity for the new Jack fm. It's great.

Yes... The music and the attitude are great. However, it will get old real fast without personilities. The Jacks in Canada have personality and are live and local. That's what keeps the magic with them. However, the Jacks here in the US are boring automatons once the music wears out.

We have one of the few variety hits stations with personality here in Reno... and the ratings have sustained as a result.

My prediction for Jack... quick pop in the trends, and then it will go down.

I am enjoying Jack. It's fun because you don't know what song they will play next. I also get a kick out of the phone calls they play, I can tell the calls are real and not staged. I think it's funny when the complaint calls are deleted and the positive calls get saved.

I do agree with Hitradio that Jack will have more short term than long term success. The novelty will wear off. But I say who cares, deal with that when it comes, jump on the next trendy fad format. In the meantime, I think Jack will do very well and shake the market up.

As for a second country station, I don't think splitting the share would be as easy as you think. Even if a station would be able to do it, half the share isn't that great of a prize.

While we are not quite a Los Angeles or Miami (markets that can barely support one country station), Las Vegas is rapidly becoming more ethnic (just ask the KDWN audience, they are obsessed with the subject), the more ethnic Las Vegas becomes, the lower the overall country share will be. This will anger some people, but I honestly believe we have more of a hole for yet another Spanish language station than a second country station, this will become more true each and every day that goes by.

Has Jack FM Played A Country Song Yet?

Jack FM is play anything you want. We have a Jack FM here in Chicago and so I guess it's catching on with everyone.

i wonder if jack fm will stream online...i noticed one or two of infinity's jack fm's do stream...many of the jacks in canada stream and some in the us stream.....the jack format started in canada and expanded to the u.s.....i live in toronto...can get jack from toronto and buffalo.

Infinity is trying to save $$$. Hopefully these Jack stations will not remain jockless.

Maybe 102.7 should go AC.<P ID="signature">______________

We have six already on FM. How many other holes could there possibly be?

How about all Julio Iglesias all the time?

One is an ultra rimshot, and barely counts...

La Nueva - Country Personality
Tricolor - Country
Amor - AC
Preciosa - Oldies
Superestrella - CHR

There is a hole for reggaetón, and there is no tropical and no ranchera stations, to name three major formats that are not covered. Thre are more formmats possible (not necessarily viable) than there are in English.
