I Love Lucy Back on Hallmark

I Love Lucy will be returning to The Hallmark Channel effective Sunday 10/4/09. A marathon will air that day 11AM-3PM. And I Love Lucy's new time slot on Hallmark will be 5PM-8PM replacing MASH, which is being dropped. Poor MASH fans. First ION announces they're dropping the show. Now Hallmark. TVLAND still has MASH, but it's unclear when they'll be airing the show. Let's see how long I Love Lucy lasts this time. Hallmark seems to change their schedule as often as TVLAND does.

TV Land's contract to run 'M*A*S*H' only allowed them to carry it late at night, while Ion's rights only extended to afternoon, and Hallmark's to prime time.
I assume that if TVL is now the 'exclusive' rights-holder, they can, and will, subject the show to the same 'crappy, schedule-hopping, on-again, off-again, pre-empted for reality show garbage' scheduling they give every other show on their schedule.
IMO, confirmed by watching most of the run on Hallmark in recent weeks, only the first 5 years of the show are worthy of repeated showings in the best time slots; the 'post-Larry Gelbart/Frank Burns', and especially 'post-Radar, Klinger no longer in drag, Alan Alda uses Korea as a metaphor for Vietnam, BJ misses Peg, war sucks, we wanna go home' years, can be shunted off to a less desireable time slot.
