I LOVE MOViN

Yeah, I said it.

Im aware this will bring me nothing but ridicule but the station (while it DOES have its mistakes) is still an awesome station.

The DJs actually CARE about the station and its listeners, the station has heart, something that has been missing in radio for a LONG time.

What drug are you on? If I did drugs, I'd like to hallucinate like you.

The DJ's suck. They don't relate to anyone. They are "ghetto lite" and aren't qualified to be in Los Angeles (ex Rick Dees who is lost) or in some cases, on the radio AT ALL (like Terra...the cruise ship entertainer who needs to return to her previous gig).

Heart? I didn't know that a heart was GREEN (like many at Movin 93.9). Maybe it's Herman Munster's heart. Before you make the comment, I am not "green" with envy about anything at Movin.

You should go to work for the consultant and tell him. He needs your support. He's got failures in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Dallas, Phoenix, Jacksonville and Salt Lake City, where the station does a 0.0. Great format! The rumors are swirling like a tornado that the Movin format is soon to be dumped at CBS' stations. Emmis will follow.

Excuse me, but are you HIGH? MOOVIN' is one of the poorest excuses for a radio station and far below the bar of an LA radio station and the ratings prove it! Nobody cares! Dees is Dees, he does what he does, but his performance is limited due to the no talents he has surrounding him. The ONLY Moovin' station that is doing well is SEATTLE's 92.5 because there is a limited amount of this genre of music in that market. In El-Lay, there is KHHT, KJLH, and KBIG who already play a similar collection of this music each with a different emphasis. The leftover leaves what KMVN plays and it doesn't even crack a 1.0 12+. Sure their 18-34 demo cell may look a little better, but the revenue Emmis lost when they blew up KZLA is frightening!

Stick to your I-pod if you want what MOOVIN' offers because most people in the target audience couldn't care less! Soon Moovin' will be gone, so enjoy it while it lasts!

When was the last time you listened?? They have really stepped it up in the last few months.

It doesnt sound GHETTO to me.... it just sounds like they cater more to HISPANICS

HISPANIC doesnt equal GHETTO (or ghetto lite). This is LOS FREAKIN ANGELES... what do you expect?

im a 24 y/o white boy and I LOVE the station. Their demos arent listening? Maybe they need to BROADEN the demo. Its the white people that I know listening.

and out of KHHT, KJLH and KBIG, 104.3 is the ONLY thing that comes anywhere close to KMVN. AT least MOViN has direction! KBIG adjusts themselves more than my father does!

KZLA is dead, get over it. Theres 2 other country stations to listen to.

Come on folks every radio station has got to have at least one fan! Even MOViN! Although it doesn't make it anymore successful or hurt anyless to listen to.

I listen to every English language FM in Los Angeles EVERY week at the very least.

Stepped up what? The amateur unimaginative repetitive imaging? Just listening to the positioning statement for this station repeated over and over as they beat it like a dead horse is enough to make anyone listening cringe. There has been no shift/change in the music. So I don't know what you are posting about.

Movin not only shares music with KBIG, KJLH and KHHT but also KRBV and KRTH and even KOST. There is OLDIES OVERKILL in this market. Movin should end and become like FRESH in New York City or target the upper end demos of KIIS by playing much more current product.

Tera Bonilla and Mario Fuentes are "ghetto lite" jocks. Poor quality air talent that "sound" like they have come from the streets....just not quite up to the real ghetto sound of the "personalities" (using that term lightly) of Power 106. They still haven't filled the night shift or weekends except with the "Boomer" on Friday nights during the mix show who is an incredible disappointment mostly just taking set-up calls welcoming himself back.

Rick Dees has self-destroyed his image as "Ricardo Diaz" at Movin. Having to yield and early on be corrected by Patty "Longlegs" Lopez - a no-talent nobody - on words/phrases/sayings in Spanish has made him look like the total mid 50's white man trying to appear hip that he is. The one thing Patty Lopez has done to Dees is make it incredibly obvious he isn't young or hip and can't relate to that audience. So much for surrounding yourself with someone half your age. But that is HIS fault.

I could not agree more that Movin needs to branch out and embrace ALL of Los Angeles and not try to just target itself at Hispanic females who they think have graduated from Power 106. In case they haven't noticed at Emmis, it isn't working anyway and they've done a terrible job trying to service them in the first place.

The only "white" people I have run into that seem to like this station are gay. They tend to like the House mixes just like gay-friendly KBIG and former L.A. dance stations KDL, Groove & Mars, the original Power 106, KUTE 102 and KIIS when it was dance friendly in 1979-1980 or so.

The sooner the better this JOKE on L.A. radio comes to an end. Movin needs to quickly enter the "Hall of Shame" of the worst radio stations this market has ever had which is currently topped by "Rock With A Beat" and KDL.

The problem with MOViN here in the Bay Area - and in LA too, I suspect - is that too many stations and formats are playing urban music, and the variations are often small. MOViN plays "old skool" rap and R&B from the late 80s and early 90s, but that also takes a lot of airtime at the popular Clear Channel 'rhythmic' twins KMEL and KYLD (think Power 106). MOViN plays a lot of "classic soul" from the 70s and 80s, but so does 98.1 "Kiss-FM" (KISQ), KBLX, Smooth Jazz KKSF, and even our "light rock" station KOIT and "Hot AC" Star 101.3 .

Why the geniuses at CBS couldn't figure this out is a mystery. I guess they thought if they put these two over-represented formats together, it would catch fire. What a joke.

MOViN 99.7 (KFRC) had been "Classic Hits" - similar to K-Earth. Though it wasn't in the Top 10- here, it was close. Now it has less than half of the Classic Hits listeners.

You know what the saddest part is? As bad as Movin's morning show sounds, it STILL sounds better than that god awful trainwreck on Star 98.7. Valentine and Lisa Foxx are so out of their league, it is embarrassing. And Star has no excuse! How many YEARS have they had to try and make that station something worth listening to? 10+?!? And they are no closer now than they were five years ago. Clear Channel's Star 98.7 is the WORST SOUNDING RADIO STATION IN THE MARKET and every single person who works there should be run out of the business.

Who are you guys kidding? Most of the stations here in LA suck. KIIS? STAR? KBIG? KOST? They're all homoginized garbage with crap talent!!!!
Ryan Seacrest is the biggest joke on the radio. He was blah at best on Star and his teaming with Ellen K is freakin' stupid!!!!

Movin...KIIS...KBIG...Power - They all suck!

Since dereg, name me one station that really sounds good!!!!!

Which deregulation are you posting about? The Clinton one that allowed a company to own 5 stations on one band? The Reagan one that got rid of arcaic rules? Or somewhere in between the two?

Don't mince words! But really, heard anything better in other cities? It's all the same, just different names... Many of the people at the stations you mention are good hard working folk who try their best. Many have been in radio for more than 30 years and were competitive when radio was supposedly better before deregulation. I don't think you can just bunch them all together and say they suck. But hey, it's your opinion. Mine is that some are better than others and if you want to feed your family you do as you’re told... Besides, a lot of the homogenized radio you speak of was happening way before deregulation. The 1st culprit was "research" and it dropped steadily from there because research is only as good as the people who know how to use it. When mixed with smarts and good talent it can be a great tool.
