WLNG - Sock Hop Saturday Night

> =(... Hopefully it comes back to NYC
>

Not sure if this will help you but worth a shot.
There's a station on L.I. WLNG, they have a show
on Saturday nights called "Sock Hop saturday Night",
it's hosted by Mark Edwards. The show was originally
on a station in Bridgeport but they canceled it because
they thought they would make more money with local sports.
The show has been on for over a decade, and it's host has
a wealth of knowlegde as well as an extensive collection of
classic Doo Wop songs, if he has it he plays it, if not his
mission is to find it and play it.

Check out his site, you'll be glad you did.
He also takes requests!
Oh, if you can't get the station in,
the audio is streamed via the net!

Thanks for the link..

Tune to channel 5 on Sirius or XM.

and enjoy great songs from the 50s and 60s, original
Top 40 jingles, classic commercials and some of the
most talented air personalities you'll ever hear ...
Danny Neaverth, Sandy Beach, Steve Mitchell and the
ageless and amazing Jackson Armstrong. Joey Reynolds
is on KB seven nights a week from 1 to 6 a.m. Yes, KB!
Buffalo's 50,000 watt KB radio 1520. It bombs into NYC
after dark. Check it out. It's real radio.

Interestingly, most people who like Classical music weren't alive when it was composed or first performed either; being 29 or 79 is neither an indicator nor barometer of whether or not one "likes" a certain kind of music.

DooWop is an absolutely American music genre. It certainly deserves to have a place on either a radio dial or a satellite channel. If you can't find it on terrestrial radio, I might suggest SIRIUS, XM or any of hundreds of on-line streaming stations that feature DooWop.

Finally, you might try downloading DooWop from iTunes, RealRhapsody or Napster for your iPod, computer music files or to burn a CD. I go to each of them when buying my own music. Good luck!
