I need an automatio nsystem reccomendation

You can remote into almost any automation system using a program like VNC or even Windows XP Pro's "Remote Desk Top." That is nothing exclusive to any particular product. I do it all the time.

Not always true, Chuck. I know people using Digital Jukebox and if totally "soils the linen" when trying to access it remotely. Makes it totally worthless to remote into it under Remote Desktop. We got it to work, but not without much pain and using some other 3rd party software and another machine local to the on-air machine. I do agree that, in general, you can remote into an automation system of reasonable quality and it will let you do what you need.

Getting back to Paul's situation, he can buy StationPlaylist Lite along with Creator lite for 149 Euros (About $197) and then upgrade later to the Pro version for another 149 Euros. While it's a little more expensive that way, you can do each purchase for under his $200 budget line. It might be something to consider. That's about what you would spend for four months of leasing Digilink about a quarter of the cost of a lower end PSI101 system.

Can't say as I've ever messed with Digital Jukebox, but your other tales of it are enough to discourage me. Most Windows based programs can be run remotely with software I mentioned as well as "PC Anywhere." Maybe DJB doesn't play nicely with Windows..

Yeah, somewhere back there he mentioned that he only wanted to spend $200. That doesn't buy much. There is a lite version of Raduga, but it is really intended for background and club music situations. It really isn't a radio program. Usually the "lite" versions have no scheduling capabilities, and no way to do anything based on time, like making legal ID's. The full Raduga version is about $650. For his budget Station Playlist Lite, or the free Zara may make more sense. In fact, installing Linux and getting Rivendell looks pretty attractive.
