I need to clean songs of language.

I use winamp for playing all my 90s songs and todays stuff and a lot of them have cursing it them glore and i want to clean the songs of language. what plugin do i need for that on winamp or cool edit that would work? i tried out the clean winamp plugin both its no good, language remains in the song, can someone help me out?

Take out the curse words manually in Cool Edit, or get the radio edit versions. There is no plugin that is able to detect all curse words from all singers.<P ID="signature">______________

I was wondering how you take out words without taking out the music. Usually when someone bleeps something out, you can still hear the music but the word gets bleeped. Is there a way to do that in Audition/Cool Edit? I never tried. The only successful and good sounding "Edits" I have made with Audition is radio edits of songs where entire parts are cut out for time reasons.

If you have the instrumental just throw it over the edited word(s) and there you have it. If not then you have to find a spot in the song that has just the music and use what you need to fill the gap.
 
You can mark just the word and apply REVERSE it. Just an idea.

The safest way I've found to take the offensive material out of these songs is to rip them into Audition, zoom in as much as needed and then highlight the word and the NEXT downbeat,, then delete, it usually matches pretty well, you can always do that with the entire phrase if need be.

The most effective way is to find a spot in the song with no lyrics and use about one beat to replace the offensive word. Often, the intro will havbe just what you need. Nine Inch Nails "Closer" is a really good song to practice on.

Also, if you have Audition 1.5, the Center Channel Extractor can work very well.

The easiest way is to use Audition/Cool Edit to highlight the offensive word and reverse the audio. That way you still have the downbeat.

I second this. Highlighting and "reversing" the specific profane word is very effective, and doesn't detract too much from the song.

Would it be redundant if I "third" this idea? It's what I like to do and sometimes it actually adds an interesting twist to the song.<P ID="signature">______________
