I've been hearing quite a bit about Zara lately and it sounds like it's pretty decent for free. However, I too have recently heard about the fact it doesn't output data to allow streaming radio to stay compliant with DMCA rules.

I run an oldies webstream, CapitalRadio.us. I use Live365 for streaming and they are quite strict about being DMCA complaint. I use a package called StationPlaylist, which is amazingly flexible. It's cheaper than most radio station automation systems (less than $400) and it does amazing things. I would recommend it for any webstream.

I hate it when I catch typos after the fact! That should have been DMCA compliant
