And that's what I'm saying too--go ahead, get Mindich to put a station like that on and see if it'll
be a big success. (Remember Jon Sinton of Air America was quoted as saying, back in 2004,
that progressive talk would be on 600 stations "in five years". 3 1/2 yrs later, it's alive but not so
well...maybe 40-80 stations at most? Successful in Portland, OR, maybe...and since "Air America 2.0"
came aboard I have heard of one station picking it up (Atlantic City) while Memphis and perhaps
San Diego will drop it. Reasons: not owning stations (relying on the likes of Clr Chnl to put it on),
no local daily hosts, weak signals, agenda-driven, etc.
I'm just saying if they think they can do a successful job in putting it back on in Boston--on a station
they'd own, more power to them. Hey, I'm a capitalist. If people can buy books by fat Michiganers
about how dumb the President is, see movies by failed Presidential candidates about how "the planet
has a fever", and continually vote in one-party government, surely there must be a market for
prog talk. Or is everyone tuned to NPR instead? Dec 21, 2007 will mark one year since prog talk
left the Boston airwaves. Will it be back by then...?
>>A prediction: one year from today, both groups will still be whining, and accomplishing nothing.
I'd tend to agree, but if Mindich, er, put his money where his mouth is...
