AndyWaldrop said:Yessir! That would be brilliant! Put another Classic Rock station on the air in D/FW knowing it has failed (as a format) in this market for a good number of years now.
Texaz said:Isnt anything over 10 years old classic rock? Drop the 70s and add the 90s!

I am predicting soft (light rock) Oldies.

97.1 is playing "Money" by Pink Floyd
93.3 is playing "Big City Nights" by the Scorpions
102.2 is playing "Even Flow" by Pearl Jam
All repetitive Hits....
But that is what--- Dallas is all about folks.
Reptitive Hits.
Big Deal....
CCEX said:Are you guys (and gals) nuts? Classic Rock is a viable format with music that dates back to the '60's. Geez, Zeps first album was '68 or '69. I agree that bands like U2 belong elsewhere. But do not cross off '70's music ... that defines classic rock. It's about the music AND the jocks folks. The right mix of both can be a huge success, especially in a market the size of Dallas.
There are at least a 1,000 songs that deserve CR airplay. KMEO/KTYS won't go that route. KMAD is a Sherman station. ZPS is at least trying. KDBN is a joke (come on Dan, wake up!). CC dropping Redbeard was a shame. Bo & Jim, if given the opportunity to do their thing, could be GREAT.
I realize that the demo is aging but numbers are numbers (ratings). I'm tired of hearing Classic Rock on KLUV folks. The format, if programmed right, can be a player in DFW.
