I suppose mainline has a death wish for djx???

Makes no sense now they just have 2 shifts left on the station mornings and afternoons!!!WTf are they thinking?I really like the night show whomever does it.I like sarah but loved when mike shannon did the night show for years and when ben w/big night show.Kiss deserves to overtake djx with the changes djx has made.

So tonight i am hereing chuck bradley so they got rid of mike to hire chuck back hmm

They need someone at nights but i think sarah is better at nights then chuck but chuck is not bad

The only changes i agree with that mainline has made is getting rid of nights at djx and getting rid of middays was no big deal always like shane though and getting rid of everyone at wlrs made sense that station is just dead weight felt sorry for rocky though but now mainline is cutting thru the bone not just to it.I say again WTF

Its always about the bottom line with these suits thats why radio sucks now.

Leesa Mitchell over @ Magic was also let go today after 9 years and stellar ratings. I remember when Mike came in. I had interviewed with Chris Shebel over @ DJX after everything blew up @ Rock 102. Mike got the night gig and I went to Tampa. Mike was and is an AMAZING talent and I'm sure someone will pick him up soon. Leesa remains a Louisville original/legend with loads of talent that is soooooo smooth! Myself, her, Lisa Lyons from the old LRS 102/ROCK 102 days, Mark Stahr, Pru Miller and others were together over the holidays sharing some goooood times from back in the day!
Thought and prayers with everyone right now. These are SCARY times...

Gee, Mainline must really HATE CHR/Pop. It looks at if Mainline is trying everything to kill 'DJX just like it killed off Z-93 in Dayton. I'm surprised they haven't completely blown up 'DJX for Adult Hits just like what happened with Z-93. Two jock shifts on a CHR? Are they kidding?!? They can get away with that on Fly(They have only one jock shift there, Danielle Noon-6P), but not on a heritage CHR like 'DJX. Even in its dying days, Z had all their dayparts covered with the exception of overnights(Midnight-6AM).

I would be shocked if they blew up djx it is a pretty good revenue generator for the suits. Besides the variety hits stations louisville does not need another one i hate louie!!!Hates a strong word it is just so boring boring boring i don't know how anyone can listen??? 8675309 and down under and other way old burned out songs, yuk!!!

If they do a jack type station it would be 105.1 but i doubt they will do it

I do like the actual jack stations though like the one in los angeles.

Peter B. was pretty smart to get off the sinking ship when he did... but it makes me wonder... did he walk out or was he pushed??

No, they have a life wish for Mainline. Look, times are hard. Radio advertising across the country is off 25% or more. Companies like Mainline don't have the deep pockets to make it through times like these without slashing staff.

So they cut nine in November and things didn't get better. Six more lost their jobs on Thursday. Two air staffers got to keep their jobs with a pay cut. EVERYONE lost benefits. Mainline is just trying to survive.

They cut Arbitron as well. Mainline now is a non-subscriber.

WDJX is their second largest biller inside the building, that has to account for something. However, they are following the model that many stations across the country are doing, two or three live jocks total and Louisville should be happy that Mainline is giving them that. Most CC stations are voicetracked!

Sarah Jordan is a decent talent that they could get for less than 40K. Ben and Kelly are paid decently im sure but not nearly as much as Peter B. So ultimately they are saving 100K with all the changes. Plus Ben is programming!

MAX still has a large staff, but for a station that doesnt get ratings, the billing is pretty decent.

B96 and MAGIC are what they are. Unique billing situations that help pull up the cashflow and can run effectively cheap. Thats one thing that Radio One actually was good at was slapping on morning shows off the bird and make them connect and sound good!

I dont think that Mainline has a deathwish for DJX. Remember they bought both clusters for $76 Million of money they didnt have. So they have to pay back their investors over the next five years. I doubt you will see them sell anything, maybe a station in Dayton and a station in Richmond which will help bring in maybe $10 to $12 million to help pay down the debt.

Kentuckymedia do you think mainline will lay off arron miller or anyone from the max.Remember they fired sarah to rehire her at wdjx.

The max gets some numbers and defenitely better then when lrs was at 102.3.

Poor lrs it is just a jukebox now but for how much longer???

LRS helps pay the heating bill. Simple as that. While they could really care less if that thing gets ratings or not, its a niche station with niche dollars and a unique audience. It makes enough money to pay the cluster essentials (lights, heat, security, secretary, tower rent) and thats all its meant to be...ever!
