But their are times when it hasn't though, Their slogan we play anything isn't always true especially when they shorten their playlist. even though they say they don't like their current music on their format it does feel like a short playlist! But i remember when i turned on hank fm in october 2008 i heard a good amount of songs i never heard them play before like these
Depeche Mode Enjoy The Silence
War Why Can't We Be Friends
Gladys Knight & The Pips Midnight Train To Georgia
The Ojay's Love Train
Quiet Riot *** On Feel The Noise
Loverboy Turn Me Loose
Expose Point of No Return
Kelly Clarkson Breakaway
Kelly Clarkson Since You've Been Gone
Depeche Mode Policy of Truth
Len Steal My Sunshine
And some other song from the 90s (don't know who sings it sadly)
Stevie Wonder Higher Ground
Another Stevie Wonder Song (don't know the name of it)
Simon and Garfunkle (sp?) Sound of Silence
The Byrds Turn Turn Turn
Isley Brothers Who's That Lady
Issac Haynes Shaft
Great White Once Bitten Twice Shy
The Spinners Working My Way Back To You Babe
Boy's Don't Cry I Wanna Be A Cowboy
Barry White Never Never Gonna Give You Up
Three Doors Down Kryptonite
Three Doors Down When I'm Gone
Coldplay Clocks
Fountain's of Wayne Stacy's Mom
Sammy Hagar Your Love Is Driving Me Crazy
Nine Days Story of a Girl
Three Dog Night Black & White or Black Or White
Pink Who Knew
Pink Wanna Start A Fight
Pink Get This Party Started
Maroon 5 This Love
Bowling For Soup 1985
No Doubt Hey Baby
No Doubt It's My Life
No Doubt Underneath it All
Weezer Beverly Hills
Gweni Stefani The Sweet Escape
Leona Lewis Bleeding Love
Engima (sp?) Sadeness
Nirvana Come As You Are
Eddie Murphy Party All The Time
Duran Duran Is There Something I Should Know
Peter Gabriel Shock The Monkey
David Bowie China Girl
those are half of my favorite songs but most of them hank fm took them off their format less than a year later , now their playlist feels too short now. If the narrator said the 70's 80's 90's and today the today part was proved in 2008 but they don't play music from today like they say they do now, And i understand they took their 60s music off their format but what's the point of saying we play anything 60s music includes anything. Not saying they should play anything as in play anything but play anything like they did previously like in 2008 that proved they played anything
Another songs Hank FM played in the past and took off their format 2 times and they are favorites of mines as well.
Wall of Voodoo Mexican Radio
The Ojay's Backstabbers
The Undisputed Truth Smiling Face's Sometime
Kylie Minogue Can't Get you Out of my Head
The Spinners Rubber Band Man
Bay City Rollers Saturday Night
Chris Issak The Wicked Game
M Pop Muzik
Sting We'll Be Together
Elton John Island Girl
Bill Withers Lean On Me
their might be more that i forgot but these are the ones i remember hearing in 2008 and 2009 (most taken off their format by then)
If they say this Hank FM is where you can drive around Electric Avenue by singing along to Maroon 5 (Then play Maroon 5 again hank fm)
Hank FM stopped playing America
And i notice they do neglect to play Gloria Estefan Music all the time which is sad, because she's one of the best artist's from the 80s You would hear just one of her songs on Hank FM then they don't play it again. (like Conga and Here We Are)
the fact is they need to play something different instead of tediously repeating the same song over and over again they are nice songs but try something different theirs other good songs from the decades they play them on that need format play again and ones that hadn't yet got format play like Spandau Ballet True ,If the repeating the same song over and over again keeps up I might just switch back to Gulf 104,
While were talking about 99.9 Hank FM anyone remember when the station use to be called 99.9 The Fox? I listened to the station when it was called that from 1996 all the way to 2001 I remember their was this DJ with this deep voice named Bill Collins (Better Known as BC) and Jeff Horn (now with Clear Channel Communications, Inc) and Jim Dixon
