I think Leno should leave NBC now as well

They are pushing him around like a broom. The Network made a commitment to the Jay Leno show and gave it at least a year to work. Maybe two. Not sure of the contract details. But obviously NBC has broken his contract. In my opinion it's time to teach NBC a lessson and head for the door. Then the Network would be really be screwed when they lose both Leno and Conan. NBC would be screwed over just like they just screwed those guys over. Sweet payback seems like a really good option this time around. I would laugh to no end if Jay came out and said he wants to leave. I would laugh even harder if they both were hired away by FOX. I can only pray.

Remember, according to most reports, Leno never wanted to leave 11:30 to begin with. He's gotten back what he never wanted to lose.

I can see it already "The Tonight show" starring Jimmy Fallon, and "Late night" starring Carson Daly.

That's a pretty amusing idea :)

But Leno has said, the Tonight Show was an easy gig for him. It pays well, he can basically do as he likes and he has lots of spare time for other things. He never had any kids, so I'm sure he has a nice routine with his wife worked out.

Why rock a boat? And more importantly, NBC sucks now, so that leaves Leno in the driver seat. Even if they replaced Leno, they like him enough to give him the creative control to do specials or whatever he wanted to do.

If that happened, they might as well write the obituaries for NBC's Late Night franchises (if this current mess did not do enough damage already).

If the Comcast deal goes through, they'll pluck talent from their cable networks to succeed retiring (or failing) hosts. I can see E!'s Joel McHale being a better host than Fallon or Daly.

This is sad how Conan has to go. Why couldn't they have just got rid of Fallon if anybody had to go?? Or Carson Daly?? After all, one post does say he has another job with CBS radio.

If Leno leaves, his options are less than Conan's in the 18-49 demo seeking ad sponsorships. The "Tonight" show still appealed to the upper end of the demo. Conan would work, maybe even better, on Fox. Leno would have to go to ABC possible) or with a cable deal on HBO, imho.

Leno's made millions from NBC and he doesn't need the work.

The show preps in the morning and tapes in the afternoon. Maybe he'd like to recoup some of that time, along with going back to standup more frequently.

Picture it: Leno could host the 11 PM show, and then Conan at... 12:05 AM! LOL

I'm sure Chelsea Handler will probably get a crack at one of those shows, too, what with her current chops in late night on E!, as well.

I think Jay should just leave. He left "Tonight" and if he didn't want to go he should have fought to keep it. I much prefer Conan anyway, he deserves a chance to make the show his own.

I can't believe NBC didn't have a plan in place in the event Jay didn't do well at 10pm. I said from the start he would fail at 10pm. Has Jay got some blackmail photos on the NBC guys or something? Jay Leno might be a nice guy but I could never see his appeal. One thing is sure and that is some executive heads should be rolling at NBC, what a huge mess.

Letterman is having way too much fun with all of this. I'm sure he's happy that it's taking peoples minds off his personal scandal.

No doubt, Letterman is writing two gold-plated "thank you" cards to Jay Leno and Tiger Woods right now.

...not to mention a secret thank you to the idiot who tried to blackmail him for his extramarital affairs.
