I think RGs were set up by clear channel management

I think they may have seen an opportunity to use the regular whining of Yogi and Panda to get out of the RGs contract early. It's no secret that the RGs have disappointed since clear channel put their balls in a lockbox upon their return. Given the latest ratings disaster for the RGs and the dated use of braves promotion it seems they were preparing for a big shake up. Maybe they were waiting on Yogi and Panda to come up with one good complaint that they could exploit to get out the large RG contract before doing a total revamp.

Larry just handed it to them on a silver platter. Clear Channel then told Yogi and Panda they would support their lawsuit as long as they promised to drop the charges once they were fired.

What do you think?

Congratulations, hundreds of posts on this site and Rodney's blog and someone FINALLY has it right. This is exactly what happened, a setup by Clear Channel to get out of their obligation to the revenue losing Regular Guys.

Yeah, sure. And JFK committed suicide. Do you guys know of the 5 stages of death? You're in denial in regards to the RG's. I'll give you this: If they still had stellar ratings this wouldnt have gone down the way it did. But a setup? Paranoid.

From what I read on Rodney's blog was that their contract expired in March and Eric refused to re-sign. If that is the case what's the point. Paranoid City. Obviously they want them back no matter what you think their ratings were good enough to keep them as opposed t the altenatives.

I think you have no clue. They had the best 25-54 numbers in the cluster. Revenue was down due to the lousy sales staff.

I am trying to follow the thought process here and I think it is becoming very clear. This was no doubt a very strategic move produced and orchestrated by the senior management at CC. So let's assume that this is true and this was a planned move just looking for the opportunity to present itself. That must mean there is a second part of this genius plan. A new morning show is coming to 96 rock and I think we all agree that is has to be David Paul. He seems to the answer to everything else on this board. In fact, I bet David Paul, planned the whole thing. He was on there show last year. He probably met with management then and put this whole diabolical plan together. This is terrible. Should we sit back and do nothing?

So what? The rest of the cluster sucked big time in the summer book.

Your right. I'm not very good at conspiracy theories. I should have thrown in a crop circle and some old guys sitting around a large table in the middle of the night smoking cigars.

My point was that perhaps someone at clear channel seized on a opportunity to ditch them early by taking advantage of yogi and panda's constant bitching.

In some ways this conspiracy theory makes sense. However, if some of the reports of management approval are correct, the CC would be setting themselves up for a wrongful termination lawsuit. No?
