I THINK XHTO IS THE BEST.... BUT

Does anyone have any info on this XHTO station? I think it is probably my favorite style of CHR format out there and I've been aware of it for about a year now, but I'm just now beginning to really wonder what they actually sound like and what their station line up is! Based on yes dot com, it seems like they do carry mix shows, but I'm not 100% positive that they do. I wonder if they mix, and if so, what times? They seem to be an interesting CHR that really knows how to jam.

And why out of all does this station have to have an X? Of course the one I find mostly interesting would be obviously "out of the norm". I wish more station in the U.S. carrying the top 40 sound or format would look at XHTO as a role model instead of what people are considering the big CHR(s) today!

The reason it's called XHTO is because it's licensed to Mexico (assuming Juarez), though it actually serves El Paso. Mexican radio and TV stations begin with X.

XHTO has been around since about 2001. They started out as CHR/pop station and had very low power rotations (40-plus spins per week, so very low repetition for a CHR) but later segued to a rhythmic sound. I haven't listened to them lately, but if I'm not mistaken, they may be moving back towards pop.

XHTO is sounding REALLY good right now! They were even beating B96 Saturday night when it came to who hit the hardest house and dance tracks. WBBM and XHTO were both going at it, and while WBBM stayed electronic longer, XHTO played deeper dance hits when they did do dance mix segments.

"Light a fire in your new shoes" by Kaskade should've been registered on yes dot com :(
