I thought things were going OK at the Bull.

I see Scott Lindy has left. It takes time to build a country station especially when you are going up against a Station that has a several decade head start. Or else he realizes how bad GST will do in a couple of books now that WSB has a FM signal.

Clear Channel's idea of doing "OK," is when they only lose 10 employees a month as opposed to 20 or so. If he did not leave voluntarily, they only did him a favor.

Maybe it's because they are moving WGST to the Bull's frequency...lol

Things were alright indeed, being a high three against the heritage of KICKS is a job no one has accomplished. Wish him well, he is a player actually too good for Clear Channel.

Honestly, I really hate the new Country, I do not ever listen to 94.9 or 101.5 what is actually the difference? Both have massive signals from the center city, that is about all I know

The Bull last month did fine, in fact had one of its best books ever.

ok Rodney, the Bull had a good book and actually has been doing quite well since Lindy arrived. Can you shed some light then as to why he's gone?

Yes, I do have my opinion...Brain surgeon

Despite the lack of posts, this is a much bigger deal than the Beat getting blown up. A PD at a station that is doing well dropping off the face of the earth? No details? Nobody talking? Something is up here.

Agreed, it is a big deal and Rodney has not uttered a peep, except for stating they had a good book last time. Nothing on his blog (unless you're a Q100 fan) Lindy is well respected and had done a great job at the Bull by hiring Jason Pullman for morning with Kristen Gates making them in some demo's a top 10 morning show, and by focusing on the current country music, the Bull's ratings since he's been there have gone nowhere but up, and for this story to get virtually no local press, what's going on?

Is it possible that there are other issues at play?

The book is aways up in the period when the bullet is administered to the programmer.

So true. It never fails. We either don't give things enough time of there are other "political" issues at play. Either way, the person who fired the bullet should be scrutinized very heavily when this happens. Or results really don't matter.

I doubt CC will let country go. They are closing the gap on Kicks.

Yes and no. They are not closing the gap. Kicks has had some of its best numbers in the last 6 months. The Bull is growing and doing well however. But they are still far and away the number two country station in a market where a second country is a question mark.

The Bull is alive and well...but so is Kicks. And for the Bull to win it has to beat Kicks in more than the occasional internal demographic.
