I too am a fan of Leykis

Who knows if Entercom will bring him back (is KISW owned by a diff. company?
Think so...) He used to work for WRKO in Boston (now owned by Entercom but I
think they had different owners in '93/'94 when he was there) and was caught
mistaking his wife for a Duraflame log one night at their Back Bay townhouse.
One spousal abuse course later, he was on his way to LA to go nationwide. By the
way wasn't it in the Emerald City where some angry fans beat him up last yr?

>>Controversial talk show host, Tom Leykis, was assaulted outside a Seattle bar early Monday by agitated radio listeners. According to the online edition of The Seattle Times, a witness reported two men were involved in the incident:

"...One of the men said to Leykis, "I called your show once and you called me" a name. "You had no right to do that." Then a man standing to Leykis' left kicked him in the face. The blow knocked him to his knees, leaving his right knee scraped and bruised."

MercuryNews.com says Leykis suffered "...a scraped knee, black eye and a cut above the eye for which he received 17 stitches."
Leykis, whose program is normally syndicated out of Los Angeles, was in Seattle to do his show from affiliate, KQBZ-FM.>>

Met Tom at a shopping center appearance--seemed like an OK guy, then mere weeks
later came the news that he threatened to kill his wife Susan and shoved her
into the fireplace. Oh well.

I love when people post this stuff over and over and over like they've just dredged up some unknown raunchy state secret! Tom has openly talked himself on air about all this stuff ad nauseam...

You're high dude, for the LAST time, I'm NOT Lisa. She's said herself on her blog that she will never post here, so get over it.

For music, I listen to KEXP, but I dig Tom's show and although I don't live in Seattle anymore, I still listen online daily and will totally fight to get him back on the air there.

We'll just start calling you (robo) Sgt. Hairclub. It's pretty obvious by the way you freak out any time anyone mentions Lisa's name. And this guy wasn't even talking about her this time, but you were sure to bring it back around.

Not only has he talked ad nauseum about it, Tom stayed married to her for nine years. He mentioned that he paid $22,000 in legal representation over this, and he still stayed married to her for seven or eight more years. Perhaps it should be mentioned that he worked it out.

Dougee IS lisa...follow the signs.

I think its funny that being skilled in radio makes being a wife-beating bully okay.

I think its too bad he got screwed by entercom, but I"m glad he's lost a major market. Talented radio personality or not, he's gotta go.

BINGO! We have a winner.

This is what makes those stupid, chicken-choking "Boys Night Out" things sickening. It's just a small fraction about how he treats women.

I happen to know different, but you can believe what you want.

> I think its funny that being skilled in radio makes being a

I for one never would condone such an act, what I am saying is, let's consider the fact it happened TWELVE years ago, it WAS settled with her, they then remained married for several more years, happily for the bulk of that time by most accounts, and the person we are discussing TODAY is a free man who has paid for that past act, legally, financially and openly states he regrets it having ever happened. So my point is, there's very little ammunition to be had for folks trying to make some giant stink of it today...

He's not gone, the angry mob threatening to burn down the station saw to that apparently. As for being on tape delay nights, I am pretty confident that is just a temporary situation until he finds his way back to live air. Like him or hate him, he is damn good at the particular kind of show he has chosen to do, and has a HUUUUGE following in Seattle. I can't see how he could not be back on live in relatively short order. I guess we'll see...

Good to have an opinion heavy on facts.

Pal, if you don't like it, find something else. I hear Tom McCarthy gave some really good fudge recipes the other day. And that Laura Ingraham over on KTTH was shrieking about something fascinating the other day. There are 70 stations for you to enjoy, with half a dozen of them filled with anti-male crap.

Robojock on this board and Wooddespiser on Lisa Wood's Truth About Radio Blog are the SAME person. With a disturbing obsessive fixation with Lisa that my wife (who studies psychology) says seems to come from an unbalanced and inexperienced young (hopefully) man in the radio industry who likely was turned down by Lisa in the past who never learned to overcome his emotions and move on and seems jealous of Lisa's popularity in spite of his denials of the painfully obvious....

You can't always get what you want Robojock. But if you try sometimes, you get what you need....

I'm sorry to dissapoint you Larry...but I haven't visited Ms. Wood's silly little blog for over 6 months.
If you'd like to view my browers logs, etc..you're more than welcome to make the 1100 mile trek to my place and do so.
