I WANT A RHYHTMIC A/C STATION

Or even a rhythimic-leaning adult hits station or a "rewind" station like the ones in Chicago, Columbus
or Cincinnati. Take 97-1 and drop this dead format and call it "Rewind 97-1" ,,,
Throw on "Bad Girls", "Tarzan Boy", "Gloria", "The Power", "Hungry Like the Wolf" and
maybe an occasional new uptempo song. I love rock and roll as much as the next person but I want something different to listen to on the radio.

Celina wanted an oldies station, per a previous topic. You can't demand. Ask nicely or you get nothing.

I'll just listen online ... (I thought I did ask nice! Maybe I didn't.)

The thing about it is that WRQQ 97.1 only switched from Rock to Classic Hits a little more than 3 months ago and YOU ARE ALREADY ASKING for them them to switch formats again. So if they were to switch to a RHYTHMIC A/C format, how long would they be on the air with their NEW FORMAT before someone else post DEMANDING A SWITCH TO ANOTHER FORMAT, 2 weeks, 2 days, 2 hours? No matter what format WRQQ 97.1 programs, several people on this board are going to complain about it.

We have come full circle. You have just described Star 97 in its heyday. (Unless you are referring to the Shadows of (K)night's "Gloria" and not Laura Branigan's "Gloria.")

I'm not complaining. I actually like their current format. They are playing songs that haven't been heard on Nashville radio in several years! But I wish that they could occasionally do a two- (or even three!) song segue without talking or dropping a station liner between them! Must they ALWAYS remind us who they are? And I would like to see them drop Vandy and Nascar programming, but I understand that they need those to make $$$$.

Same here. I am enjoying 97.1 for the first time in a long time. This must have been a good week as I did not hear as much of their bellbottom rock rotation as usual. Mack, I am glad you took my advice and added disco. Now for my next suggestion-- free of charge--find the old 106.7 The Planet playlists. You could throw in some heyday Y107/Kicks104/96Kiss music too. Be bold.

Courier, The Planet was my first favorite station which I did not already know most of their playlist-
