I was wondering when they'd get around to a DJ

Obviously somebody was looking/sending child porn from the radio station....cops don't just show up without good reason...

You know what would be a hoot....they need a morning show and Dan Neavereth needs a gig...yeah, its not much of a radio station but he could put it back on the radar. They play music from his era...KB is gone, WECK is gone...a little fine tuning of the playlist (add '70's stuff) and maybe they can make some money. Perhaps Dan should just buy the time and sell it himself.....bring Tom Donahue and Accordian Bill with him.

Not as wacky as it sounds.

Neaverth could staff the radio station with his family, including Junior and PJ (maybe even the grandkids by now.) He could buy time, but a smart owner would structure an equity deal with Neaverth. It's not like Phillips is rolling in money, so what do he and Dennis Westerberg have to lose by cutting Neaverth in for say, 30%? Run oldies from 55-65 Monday through Friday, run the ethnic programming on Saturday and Sunday and the station could make some money.

BTW way, last I heard, the station is still licensed to Niagara Falls. After sunset, it can't be heard south of Kenmore, so calling it a "West Seneca station" is a stretch.

Nonsense! Neaverth and his family don't need the money so badly that they'd want or need to work at a 1kW station that can barely be heard, let alone pay its electric bill. Danny is a premier talent. Going from WHTT to KB to WJJL isn't the way to wrap up a career, especially one as noteworthy as his, equity position or not.

Re: All Neaverth, All The Time

Wasn't WJJL the station that Joanne Lutz-DiStefano-Phillips-Jones-Kane-Doe-Smith-Kennedy-Spencer-Kirk (etc.) claimed on this board that she was going to purchase??

LOL!

Nobody said they needed the money....it would just be an interesting experiment. It would be great to see them pull bigger numbers than KB and outsell them too. As for signal..it can be heard well during most of am drive. They are supposed to be getting a new tower configuration in West Seneca but I don't know it that includes any power increase. Change the call letters to WBKB or something to piss off Entercom. Wonder if they could masquerade as WKBW like 1520 did? You know, play all the jingles that don't have 1520 in them. Just silly daydreaming...

HA!!! That mere thought successfully ended this thread!

Can you say "screeching halt?"

Sniff, sniff... is that the aroma of burning brake pads and rotors?

BTW, in retrospect, I regret not starting a new thread to address the Neaverth angle. It seems kind of disrespectful to attach his good name to the genesis of this thread, though no disrespect was intended.
