It appeared to me the patients were older, as a group, than patients at other medical offices. For reasons I won't go into, I went to a different eye doctor the last several times, but now I'm back at this one.
I didn't hear any music in the main waiting room, for which I was grateful. When I went to this particular office years ago, I heard a "lite" radio station pretty much everywhere, but they've greatly expanded these offices and for some reason, there's not music everywhere.
I did hear music in one small waiting room, from another "lite" radio station. It was at a very low volume. Some songs were perfectly acceptable--"Right Here Waiting" by Richard Marx (how appropriate!) and "Your Song" by Elton John. I heard "Respect" when I first arrived, which is probably a little hard-edged for an office environment, but at this volume it was fine.
I also heard one of these new songs with a beat and a female vocalist. I have no idea what it was. but I was relieved the volume was so low.
Regarding the music mix: From what I have heard on this site, the radio station playing in this office building leans more toward older songs than most Lite stations. The competition, I am told, has virtually given up on old songs and certainly could not be described as "Lite" even though they use the name, and it's not one station, but many Clear Channel stations, playing the music.
Also, the radio station I heard turns up the volume at night and can definitely not be called "Lite" at times. It's a relief they're not doing that kind of music during business hours.
