I would pay for HD radio

...if it worked as promised.

Or if I could software upgrade my NTG4, the radio that came with a 2010 Chrysler Town & Country cabinet.

When I bought my XDR-F1HD was that considered paying for HD Radio. It has helped me out a few times when DXing. Every now and then you'll get one of those NPR type stations via e-skip that only IDs at the top of the hour but runs HD radio and if the signal gets strong enough you get the call letters. Hands down the best feature of HD Radio.

It is a neat feaure, but I hate to disappoint you, that is not a feature of the FM-HD. It is the RBDS/RDS and that is separate from FM-HD.

I have an HD Jump suction-cupped to my windshield. It makes the dashboard look junked-up.

It is, too, because I've encountered one or two HD stations not running RBDS. I think 99% of HD stations run different text on the HD and RDS feeds, anyway. The ones here all seem to.

When you drive away from an HD station, the HD will go away but the RBDS with still be there for awhile.

I don't remember seeing an HD station not using RBDS but the display is not always accurate.
