i101 possible direction

What if i101 went to a Dance Hits format from the 90s, 2k and Today? They have heritage 90s B-96 songs to pull from, 2k Energy
92-7/5 songs to pull from and Today's Dance/Top 40 songs to pull from. It would be a whole lot more fun than the overkill of adult Chr/Hot ac - land that Chicago is drowning in these days. Thoughts? Feasible format?

So you want them to switch to a format that more or less is already on 4 other stations here in one form or another (B96, KissFM, 92.5/7, and some other one I came across late one night), as it is?

Personally, I think that a pretty large majority (myself included), don't particularly care for this format. (my PC way of saying... it sucks!)

Honestly, the ratings suggest a large majority don't particularly care about the current format. It's on at least 3 other frequencies (the mix, my FM, rewind). Dance hits could be at least 75% different from B-96 and Kiss and 9fm by using 90s and 2k selections. They already sound a lot like b and kiss. I really didn't want to know if anybody had an opinion that this format would suck. Is it viable?

(Country sucks in my opinion but it IS a viable format.)

Well, they didn't change formats but they had an all iParty weekend, tons of mixes by well known Chicago DJs. Fun to listen to even for a weekend.

Maybe a dance/r&b/hip-hop "rhythm of Chicago" from the 90s, 2K and Today type format? I know I'm stretching but the Hot AC is just too much right now on the dial.

It does sound like Alt. Rock Q would fair well looking at 87.7 numbers. Who knows?

It does, but look how many times a #2 option has tried and failed. Kinda the same here. You already have a couple catering to this style, how many more do you need? Obviously if there were a need, it would've already presented itself.
