Hi

Anybody noticed the change in the music? They're slipping in Top 40 songs from the 90's and the songs they play today. Here are some 90's artists they've been playing:

Sean Paul
House Of Pain
Sir Mix A Lot
Blackstreet w/Queen Pen & Dr. Dre
Destiny's Child
Montell Jordan
Vanilla Ice
The Notorious B.I.G.

And many more.....

They started doing that with I 94 in Indy and it's not working for them. They went into a Hot AC direction there and their raitngs have slipped. They will not do well with in Dallas either. Of course, that is Cumulus.

You wouldn't think i93 will go Hot A/C do you?

I would not think they would go Hot AC. I would think they would keep trying to catch Kiss FM, but who knows. Maybe put the top 40 format on 96.3, and KSCS on 93.3.

Hot AC for I93 is a bad idea with that limited signal, but I've noticed a few CHR's sneaking in older songs now.

There's was a long streak of dance-club "turbo-pop" (as Sean Ross called it) for most of this year (LMFAO, Gaga, Katy Perry, Usher, Far East Movement) but that style seems to be peaking quickly.

Too low on the totem pole to know what the plans are, but I did hear some old Eminem the other night while roaming the halls. Thought it was odd myself, since the station is billed as CHR.

I heard KISS play Sir Mix Alot so what's the big deal if I93 throws in a couple of Gold Hits? Personally, I'm glad they've expanded their playlist.

Sir Mix Alot has been a staple song on KISS since that song came out I think..It's the only Gold track they actually play every single day..but I do like hearing older music..Would be nice if they added in older rock tracks from the 90's too but I'm not holding my breath on that one

Got a question
Do you think a trance mixshow overnights would work on I93?

That's likely too niche to work on Radio.

That being said, the other Top 40s in Dallas have mixshows.

Obviously I'm out of the loop on what "trance" is.
Does Houdini make an appearance? :D

What other Top 40's in Dallas? KISS is a joke. Mega is descent but that's Spanish Pop. I really would like CBS to bring a station similar to Hot 95.7-Houston to Dallas.

I don't know of anyone in the industry that would call KHKS 106.1 Kiss FM a joke. It's one of the nation's premiere CHRs. It consistently ranks first in quite a few demos, and has the kind of cume that even a lot of Chicago stations aren't privileged enough to have.

It's very cookie cutter just like most of the CC Top 40 stations. There's absolutely nothing original about KISS 106.1. Again, I really want CBS to bring some real competition to KISS 106.1
