i94.....

Is it just me or has this station seem to have gotten a little better since it first launched about a year ago? I also seem to think it has been leaning more rhythmic chr. Does anyone else agree?

They do sound good in a mostly automated sort of way. Top 40 stations generally sound like whatever style the hits in any one month are. Not sure if they are running legal but their audio sounds great.

I honestly think if they stick with it, I-94 will overtake Radio Now. I have been listening to both and think I-94's presentation is better.

Is their signal adequate to take on RadioNow? 100.9 is just a few miles from downtown (one of the better, if not best, class A's in Indy), whereas I94 is almost on the eastern county line.

When does I94 get that B1 upgrade? Paul Ford can't stall it forever, can he?

Chris Wheat has no say in format flips. Format flips come from the call in Atlanta. Chris Wheat is merely a cumulus puppet

When they do, it won't be a full B1 upgrade. At 480' HAAT, the ERP should be in the 10500 - 11000 watt area. They are only getting about 2/3 of that (6900). So it will only be about halfway between an A and a B1.

That may be True. But Unfortunately the FCC allowed Cumulus to move 93.7 Seymour to 93.9 Sellersberg. which will unfortunately allow 93.9 Fishers to Move to Lawrence as a b1 with 93.9 Clinton finally moves to 93.7

Bring back THE HEAT Z-93.7,, Best Indiana CHR ever.

seymour has much more radio than it had in the 1970's according to radio-locator.
I doubt the community could support more commercial stations. The 2 Auston licenses
have moved to Seymour.

WPFR will have a much better signal when it moves to 93.7 because there is much less
interference on 93.7. A good receiver will hear WPFR in Indy when they move.

Two low power stations. 93.7 was 25kw and had quite a reach...same thing with WSLM 98.9. Two high power stations taken away from southern indiana and replaced with a couple of puny stations.

True. The Duck on 93.7 had a great signal. In fact, it came in better
in Brownsburg than any of the Columbus stations. In deed, the loss
of Class B channels in rural communities has been a great loss to these
communities. The current FCC says they will take a hard look before
they allow any more of this.

You might also note that The Duck would have left Seymour years
earlier except for the fact that I filed petitions.

Next concerning WPFR, it has always been customary to compensate
a broadcaster if you force him to move on the dial. WPFR expects
some compensation. What has Paul Ford been offered?
And yes, his coverage will improve when he moves. But, he should
get some money to promote this move.

For starters, they have all they need, except money, to raise the power. It could be done in a week if they cared.
As for programming -- it's not Chris Wheat who runs the show, he's a Cumulus manager and does what he's told, smiles, says "yes sir", bows to John Dickey and collects his next paycheck.
