IBOC is back...

on WYDE-AM 1260. I heard it again a couple of days ago on 1260's adjacent frequencies....and of course, the sound quality on 1260 is back as it was previously. ::). I thought the digital signal might be on its way back on WYDE when the station went off the air just before Memorial Day. Nothing was ever done to WXJC-AM, do it seems if Crawford was intentionally doing away with IBOC on 1260, they would have followed suit on WXJC.

When are these people ever going to learn this "HD" radio is a failed technology and hardly anyone lnows what it is or cares about hearing it? HD radio on FM is only useful to Clear Channel and other huge conglomerates like them as a means to create "dummy stations" so they can legally rebroadcast on FM translators.

You are so right.
I have heardCrawford's AM iBoc on two different receivers
in past years. It has base, treble but no mid range.
Throw in too many a/d conversions or whatever and your
ears will bleed.
BTW,check out the "Original HD Portable Design
has Changed" thread on the HD forum.
It appears that some new production Insignia NSHD-01's are
running just past the 90 day warranty period and then dying.
