I read on another board that the IBOC/HD Radio rules have now been published in the Federal Register. As is the custom with administrative rules, this starts the 30-day clock running on final implementation.
The most impactful change deals with AM IBOC. Once the clock stops ticking, AM stations with HD may start using the HD after local sunset. You may recall this issue has caused great debate and consternation, but, now the final rule is on the horizon.
We have two stations running IBOC/HD Radio on AM here: WDIA and WREC. Of course, in Germantown, one can't hear WDIA at night at all. But, I will be curious to hear how WREC sounds with skywave interference in HD.
