Ice build up on FM antenna?

I gues its possible... I think that might be whats going on with mine tonight, I was listening to San antonio radio, which I am DX'n it south of Austin with it being about 20' up,,, and I'm getting a bad interference noise, the station is clear, but just a bad interference noise. the TV antenna seems to be doing fine, but I have that going to Austin (which that antenna is about 27' up, so not much realy of DX'n there. Does anyone else have any problems with Ice building up on a antenna?

Hey there Jras20
Up here in Dallas I had my TV antenna up and had just a light dust of snow on mine because I took mine down this morining before I went to school so that ice didn't form on it. My nieghbors across the street from me has the same antenna as me which is a VU 75XR radio shack antenna and had icesicles hanging off the driven elements and some of the other VHF elements on Them. I didn't get a chance to ask them how thier reception was.

Ya'll got it worse then we did I hear, but this morrning before I left, I saw my antenna was covered with ice cycles, I turned on the radio, it acually seemed to do fine, no interference what so ever, I gues it was maybe sleeting last night when I was listening? I didnt realy think that had much effect on it.<P ID="signature">______________

Last night I was setting out the trash and we use those 95 gallon dumpsters and it was frozen shut I had to get a flat screw and a hammer to break the ice so I could put the trash in. The morning rush was a nightmare. had to accidents on I-20 between 35-E and I-45. I finally put my antenna back up this afternoon not much DX action. I have never DXed when it has snowed or been icy. I noticed yesterday morning when it was sleeting with light snow I could see the station and had a watchable picture there was just a little snow in the picture. FM was like wise.
