I have been testing an Ogg stream in icecast off and on from a free remote server, and it will not list me in the directory,, It was ver difficult to setup but after I found out what a mount point was,, and figured out how to set the quality I was up and running,, Edcast is a peace of junk, so I used the oddstock dsp instead, it was much more stable, but after several hours of waiting I still wasnt listed in the icecast directory. I noticed their arent alot of stations listed in the icecast directrory, , and I know their are far more stations using Icecast then what is in the directrory,, the OGG sound qulaity was great, but unless you have a website with your own URL,, it seems useless, as the only way to find and listen to my stream would be on stream finder... Tell me,,, why cant I get it to show up in the directory,, if I could show up I would prob switch from shoutcast, but without being in the directory it does me no good. i dont have a proper website with a good url.

Honestly I had those same issues and I never quite got it fixed it was hit and miss at best with Icecast getting listed.

I went back to a 128k Shoutcast stream and am pretty happy with it. Although today I noticed when I looked up KXRX on the shout directory it pulled up my station fine, gave the right song information but when you clicked play it loaded an ErrorFM channel instead on my station and I can't figure out how that would happen unless the Shout Directory has a record cached or something its very strange

Thank you but that is too difficcult for me,,, I would have to see it done in person... Im sticking with shoutcast.

Actually for getting any decent numbers at all, both tuners are useless for different reasons:

Shoutcast has too many stations listed (which hopefully will go down when they require that mp3 license to be listed in the new directory) so you will get lost in the mix.

Icecast has never been all that popular, however a much better directory and wider format support, I always thought OGG/Vorbis sounded fantastic (although AAC+ beats it now), but you won't get any listeners out of this either.

Best advice is to build a nice looking website, and use all the traditional ways to drive people to it. MARKETING is the key word here folks.

Excuse me Guys but where on the Edcast plugin do i type in that code,, And where if anywhere do i type in UTF-8
