Idea For KEWB/ Redding

I was just looking at the ratings and it looks like KSFM out of Sacramento continues to pull in listeners from the Chico market. Power 94 (KEWB) from Redding isn't easily picked up in Chico. I was thinking that if Power 94 moved their tower to Red Bluff they could reach Redding and Chico. I honestly think that this would be a great move for boosting advertisers because they would reach people from the Chico and the Redding markets. It would also fill the demand for a CHR in Chico. *Just an idea :)

Easier said than done... the FCC is strange and wacky in what they'll let stations do / not do.

Any engineering types in here know if that even seems like it could be a remote possibility?

Interesting thought, it would depend on separation requirements and co-channel KSSJ Fair Oaks may come into play.

I don't have the fancy software that predicts all this stuff, but I would think that they'd have trouble with KMXI on 95.1. 2nd adjacent channels don't really interfere with each other on today's radios, but the FCC still enforces those mileage separation rules. At 1st glance, it looks like they might be able to move down one channel - to 94.5 - and relocate somewhat further south, but that's a whole different story.

Results Radio also has 100.7, 102.1 and 106.7, which are closer to what you're talking about - a signal 1/2 way between Chico & Redding. But of course they meet mileage separation rules for those frequencies. In addition, they have a 96.1 (licensed to Shingletown) that probably puts a pretty good signal into Chico, but they have a CP to move it closer to Redding, sacrificing coverage in Chico.

The ownership is listed for some stations as "Results Radio of Redding" and for others as "Results Radio of Chico". Does anyone know if they run 2 separate sales offices?

96.1 is probably moving closer to Redding because ESPN Radio already covers Chico with 101.7 from Hamilton City, as well as KEWE in Oroville(1340am)
