Ideas to improve Service Broadcasting in D/FW

Take KRNB's format and put it on the 104.5 stick. The target demo would be adults 25-54 with an empahsis on the 35-45 year old adult. The mix of music would be 70% R&B and 30% rap/hip hop. The R&B would be from the 1970's to Now and the hip hop would be classic hip hop. None of today's rap music. On the weekends have some neo-soul, blues and jazz.

Then on the 105.7 facility have a 24 hour Today's gospel music station. Only on Sundays they would play some of the old time gospel. NO ministries, just good ole fashioned BLACK GOSPEL MUSIC.

Salem, you know they are not going to do that. Especially with both stations beating their competitors.

Really, I did not know they were beating them.

KRNB is one point behind The Beat, (14th & 15th place)

I still would do it. That would freshen up Service....

Why? ??? If anything K104 needs to go back to full service urban format that targets 18-49 year olds via dayparting and just use 105.7 signal as a FM relay of KKDA-AM. Dallas-Fort Worth doesn't need to be tortured by Radio One's lack of ability to provide coherent music programming as its only source of contemporary urban music.

I've said it before. Just don't mess with KKDA-AM. I don't care what the ratings are. Love that Urban Oldies format and the old jingles!

Now if they could only get a website and stream their station. It makes no sense that K-104 & KRNB both have websites & streams and Soul 73 doesn't have neither. And they're in the same frickin' building! Seems like they're treated like stepchildren worse than KRNB.

I'm sure it has to do with a revenues vs. cost thing. But it would be nice to hear Da' Wolf online.

I like how K104 used to sound like before 2006. K104 since 2006 hasn't sound the same. To me, that is when they went downhill from there.

Just heard Whodini, "Friends" in regular rotation on KRNB. So far, I've heard 2Pac's "Dear Mama", "Keep Your Head Up", and Doug E. Fresh, "The Show" in regular rotation. They are easing the old school hip hop in and I like it!

Agreed, I have been wanting to hear KKDA-AM stream since the late 1990s. Of course, they still don't even have a website. Even KRNB Praise and K104 Praise have streams.

It all started to go downhill when they got rid of the morning show crew. In the past several years they started to skew extremely young as well, may not be the best idea with PPM.
