There is alot of value on these boards. But you can only see it if you put the ego away. Something you obviously have trouble doing. If the "attacks" were so offensive, we do have a "Report This Post" feature. And if it was truely offensive, it would be deleted. The best way to respond to someone who offends you is to move on. Because nothing gets accomplished by starting childish games. If you were a truely matured individual, you would have responded to him with reason why he is wrong in his assement, not by resorting to childish games. As I said in an earlier post, "board ops" have strong opinions. Someone with experience and maturity can guide them. But you'd rather play a childish game that accomplishes nothing but getting you banned.
You have NO IDEA what my "job" here is. Just because I have an "M" by my name does not limit me to "removing bad words". You don't have the slightest clue what running a website and message board entails. You also don't realize the scope of this board: We are ranked in the 15,000's out of the Billions of websites out there for traffic. This isn't a schmoe gig.
You aren't as smart as you think. This is a PRIVATELY OWNED message board. We have our own rules. Your "opinion" is not protected here, neither is "free speech". Just like if you owned an arcade but didn't allow anyone to swear while on premises. It's your right to do that. Just like schools can send your child home if they have hate speech on their shirt. It's free speech right? Oh...but there will always be rules.
Slander is not allowed. Copywritten material is not allowed. Personal opinions are. If someone want to say they think XYZ Jock stinks because they smoke Winston's...they can. It's not very intelligent, but hey, no one said you had to be intelligent to express your opinion. Stern gets away with it every morning.
You say you gave radioaddict1 a little of his own medicine? HA...Hardly. You resorted to a childish vendetta in order to mislead others on the board. His own medicine would have been to correct any "misinformed opinions" he has. Using the example above, the medicine would have been something like, "You can't judge a talent by the cigarrettes they smoke, how about a real reason why you dislike jock XYZ, like too many verbal pauses". (You do know what a verbal pause is right Oldpro?)
As far as criticizing one's "personal life"....if you don't like the criticism, get OUT of the biz. People used to talk about it around the water cooler, in the school halls, around the supper table, etc etc....this is no different. It is just another forum for people to discuss radio...whether it be how a transmitter works, how arbitron collects it data, who owns what, or how many time ABC Jock has been in and out of rehab or how many times he's been divorced. Jock's talk about other public figures...Jock's are also Public Figures. Apparently someone forgot to tell you that. Why should jocks be exempt from public scrutiny? Oh...becasue it hurts your feelings...Maybe YOU should grow up.
As far as doing something constructive and stopping the "personal" attacks. As soon as jocks stop attacking public officials, and stop making fun of callers...yeah, like that'll ever happen....
I'm glad my "opinion" means nothing to you. It makes my job easier. And for one who wants the "attacks" to subside, I love the example you are setting by attacking me.
