The "F" word? It went out at low level in Gulfport when I worked there. If you ever used an Ampro board, you may know that it was impossible to do smooth fades with a lot of compression because the pots on those boards only faded so far before the audio dropped out. I was in the station one night when the guy on the air flipped the mic switch with the pot low and started the next song, only to find that someone had left the cart uncued. He was left with dead air and uttered "What happened...aw f---!" Upon realizing the mic was hot, he went into a panic. As it happened, he was air checking, so I popped out the cassette and ran into the production room. Even though the mic was potted down most of the way, it was clearly audible on the aircheck, although it wasn't all that loud. We didn't get any calls, so nobody must have noticed. I should have called him from another line just to shake him up!
Bloopers? One of my first that some friends will never let me forget was reading a live spot for an unfinished furniture store. They swear I said "unfurnished finiture" while reading it and I never have doubted them.
