Idiots at CNN Cut Away From space jump

So I'm watching live coverage of Baumgartner's skydive from the edge of space and the idiotic minds at CNN decide to cut away to a shot of the anchor desk just as he jumps from the capsule at 128,000 feet! I guess they thought his head would explode or something.lol. C'mon CNN, it's no wonder why you are losing viewers left & right!!!! You do live coverage building up the story, and then when the story actually happens, you cut away!!!

CNN is a pathetic operation that needs to be thrown out of airplane.... without a parachute.

There was no need for you, KentBrockman, to express this amount of anger to the point of using words like "idiot", "idiotic", and "pathetic". You could have expressed your displeasure without being rude. Also you could have used the first name and the last name of the person who dived since not every one is familiar with him.

I express my opinion honestly and how I want to. If you don't like it, too bad.

Besides the cutaway just before Felix jumped, CNN had so many graphics across the bottom of the screen that you could not see the information provided by "Mission Control" like temperature and pressure inside and outside the capsule.

While they were depressurizing the capsule, the communicator told Felix that the "releative" altitude pressure of the capsule was only 100,000 feet and that they needed to bring it to 128,000 feet. The CNN anchor who was talking away and missed most of the conversation then thought they were going to have to raise the capsule higher.

Did they hire that Fox News staffer who was working Shepard Smith's show a couple of weeks ago? ???

I didn't get to see the jump live since I was at a church retreat and didn't have access to a TV or computer, but I watched it on You Tube later. Were there any cameras on Felix's suit that would have shown what the jump looked like for him? I'd like to see some videos of that.

I watched it online and it was probably the best way to watch. Totally uninterupted by anything.

Same here. If you had internet access and a computer I'm not sure what else you could have gotten out of it from watching the jump on tv instead. The last thing I would have wanted was some annoying talking head babbling on during the freefall when I would have wanted to hear Felix and his people on the ground instead.

I read that the National Geographic channel is going to have a 2 hour special about the jump on sometime next month. I'm hoping for some really nice HD shots that I couldn't get yesterday. I also assume this is why Red Bull keeps getting all the videos on Youtube pulled on copyright grounds.

You seem to be in a constant state of shock and dismay. I've already found your full identity on Google. You are not a moderator on this board, and if you don't like what you see in this forum, then simply leave and make our lives and your life way happier.

The official explanation was that CNN wanted to make sure that the jump ended well before showing its entirety. They didn't want to be stuck showing the man plummeting to his death (similar to Fox's showing a man blowing his brains out after a car chase a few weeks ago). I actually applaud their efforts.
