IDT DVP@FM Firmware Information wanted

Hi,
Had some issues when attempting to upgrade the firmware in a DVP@FM. Communication error half way through the process after the midway reboot, causing a full failure. Reloaded the original backup configuration back in and the unit now boots up, but does not progress past the DSP testing stage. I suspect that earlier (Older) versions of the DBP@FM Processor used a earlier version of firmware than is on the IDT website at present. Any information on the firmware for these units would be appreciated. Any ideas on how to restore functionality? Prior to the upgrade all appeared normal except for a few anomalies when attempting to calibrate the unit.
Thank you
Macca.

I had the same problem because I was using a USB/serial cable. It's very important to have a real serial connection cable when you proceed to any upgrade/crossgrade of the firmware. The iDT support have a special file to restore without any backup. Good luck.

Hi stha,

I take it that IDT supplied you with the file upon your request? Will see what they come up with for me. Its a bit of a trap for the un-initiated, since the unit is so dependant upon software for its operation.

Thanks Macca.

Does any one have a suggested point of contact for getting service from IDT? I have made serveral enquiries by the feedback form on their web page, but have had no response. Any assistance appreciated. Regards Macca

Hi Macca,

I've heard from another French sound processing Manufacturer that IDT has gone bankrupt ... Maybe you should try to get in touch with Vincent Defretin (former CEO of IDT) at Sound4 ( www.sound4.biz ).
Hope this will help...

Thank you for the suggestion and information Michael. I will endevour to contact Vincent and see how we get on. Regards Macca.
