If 97.3 were in English

I would like to see 1 of 2 formats for it: modern rock (to also serve Cape Cod) or simulcasting WBSM. What I could not see: dance/Top 40 (already on Fun 107), country, A.C..

I really like the Modern Rock format idea for 97.3FM, They could call it ''97.3 The Edge''. ;D

Modern Rock has been tried numerous times and have all failed WDGE,WFNX there might be another one or two. Why would you want to put a failed format on the air.WBRU owns the format around here.

The older folks here would remember (including little-ole-me)....that it was the long-term goal of the late Edmund Dinis to eventually turn over 97.3 to English language programming.

In fact....he applied for...and got...a CP for a 5KW AM station for North Dartmouth at 1270.

Unfortunately, the steady drumbeat of the NIMBY and *BANANA* crowd made it impossible for Dinis to get a site for the transmitter, and the CP eventually expired....unbuilt.

(P.S..... B-A-N-A-N-A.....BUILD ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ANYWHERE NEAR ANYBODY!)

Perhaps not modern rock, but what about a triple-A format? Perhaps work out some kind of deal with mvyradio, although it would be very far-fetched. More likely, Northeast Broadcasting, who owns 92.5 WXRV "The River"/Andover, MA could have control. It should still be run locally. "97.3 the Bay" perhaps?

what are the odds it will be English one day? Doesn't fall river have two stations like this on on the am as well??

Just 1 but maybe one of the New Beige A.M.s could flip to Portuguese. 1340 I propose even though it's been in English since it signed on in 1925 as far as I know. ESPN radio is a waste.

Wasn't the stick supposed to land in the Copicut reservation? I believe the Karams were opposed for various reasons.
