On both first-adjacents with a lighter ssssssssssssssss on the second-adjacents.

Oh wait, that's the sound of AM IBOC falling. :D ;)
 
No, it's more of a harsh screech on the second adjacents! Makes them absolutely unlistenable for more than about 10 seconds.

Does anyone actually listen to AM HD? Anyone at all?

Yes, there is a smattering of listeners for FM HD - reminds me of the percentage who once listened to AM stereo. Those AM HD signals that are on an FM HD2 get a couple dozen listeners here and there on those Inspiron portables to be sure. But, seriously, does literally anyone listen to HD on AM? Why continue to destroy the band for NO good reason?
 
I listen to AM-HD while listening to AM talk radio if the station happens to be broadcasting in HD. But I don't seek out AM-HD stations like I do for FM. If an AM station was broadcasting in HD, and a simulcast of that station was also on an HD-2 or 3, I would listen to the latter. While traveling, WLS, KSL and KMOX come to mind for HD-2 or 3. I'm looking forward to going to Washington DC to see how well WJFK does in terms of digital coverage as compared to analog, in that WJFK is probably the most severely short spaced station in the nation. I wish I could have gone this weekend to protest against the health care program!
 
If a tree falls and is only heard on AM HD then I dought anyone will know it unless they happen to be there to see it. I hate to say it but I believe you could transmit winning loto numbers on some AM stations the morning before the drawing and still nobody would win the money, a sad truth.
