how much, if at all, will it affect the Little Rock stations? Any possibilities of format changes or other radical changes for any of the stations?
The Outsider said:If Cumulus does take over, the station that may see the most change will be KLAL. Jan Jeffires will control the playlist from HQ in Atlanta and decide what songs they will add as he micromanages their CHR properties. They would cancel Ryan Seacrest's show, but add Billy Bush at night.
KIPR has enough heritage that they will probably leave it alone for the most part. In many of their markets, Cumulus has a big signaled Urban. They don't seem to be micromanaged the way their CHR and Country stations are. They may just want to leave KARN-FM alone as in a growing number if markets, the main News/Talk outlet has an FM presence. Other than The Sports Animal, the Little Rock AM band is a vast wasteland.
