If Citadel Broadcasting accepts the offer from Cumulus..................

how much, if at all, will it affect the Little Rock stations? Any possibilities of format changes or other radical changes for any of the stations?

I doubt that we would see much change initially.

However, they may see the opportunity to bring KARN-AM back to what it was doing for many decades, NEWS TALK. But, they may also find a translator to team with the AM. Then, do something with putting the Sports Animal on 102.9 instead. Sports is going to bring more revenue in than the News Talk format has.

KAAY won't be touched. KOKY won't be touched either.
KPZK 1250 AM might see something happen. A real format on a Little Rock signal.

Usually, Cumulus has a BIG Country station in their markets; but, I don't see that happening with a 100kw powerhouse in KSSN (Clear Channel) and KMJX (Clear Channel). IF... they would switch a station to Country, the only REAL station to do it would be either KIPR 92.3 or KURB 98.5.

Then, move the former format to 102.9 FM. The most likely one... KURB 98.5.

If Cumulus does take over, the station that may see the most change will be KLAL. Jan Jeffires will control the playlist from HQ in Atlanta and decide what songs they will add as he micromanages their CHR properties. They would cancel Ryan Seacrest's show, but add Billy Bush at night.

KIPR has enough heritage that they will probably leave it alone for the most part. In many of their markets, Cumulus has a big signaled Urban. They don't seem to be micromanaged the way their CHR and Cuntry stations are. They may just want to leave KARN-FM alone as in a growing number if markets, the main News/Talk outlet has an FM presence. Other than The Sports Animal, the Little Rock AM band is a vast wasteland.

We may need to look at this again. Even though Cumulus can barely afford to run the stations it has now.

I also agree that this would happen. Not so much a format change, but just a musical tweak that only CHR junkies would notice. Music would probably be along the lines of KRBE/Houston or Q100/Atlanta. It would be kinda sad to see such a unique CHR as Alice is (with its adult and rock friendly nature known for playing tracks that don't necessarily get much airplay nationwide) turn into a cookiecutter Cumulus clone.
