If Clark eventually leaves WSB, who could replace him? Rush? Rusty? Medved?

If Clark cuts his show entirely from what it is now, what will WSB replace him with. Would Premiere be okay putting Rush on a non-clear channel station to get higher ratings? Could you give Rusty Humphries a high dollar paycheck and bring him back home?

Dave Ramsey?

Hannity is on WSB because WGST's signal peters out at the end of PM drive in winter. No such issue with Rush.

Picking a nit--
WSB is a clear channel station.
WGST is a Clear Channel station.

WSB is Cox.

I think he meant that WSB was a "clear channel station" by its signal.

Actually, WGST is a Clear Channel station and a clear channel station.

Clark Howard is one of my favorite radio personalities. He's the Jewish dad I always wanted....always good advice on financial matters and plain ol' common sense advise when the hobnail boot of business is pressing on your throat.
I agree with Widow's son.....the Christmas Kids deal he does every year is simply good radio and also provides a tangible benefit to our community. The Habitat House he builds every year is yet another example of a Clark Howard event - he is a man who truly understands the meaning of service. When he goes to the next caller he often says, "how may I serve you." Imagine that! A radio "star" who actually thinks it's all about serving his listeners.....
There will never be a replacement for Clark. It will be the end of an era when he leaves. I hope that's a long time from now.....

Clark is painfully always too touchy/feely. Way too much time spent talking about the boring nuances of each caller's life... not to mention his travel deals of the day with much time spent on his travel stories and a great deal to go to obscure places that no more than 1 listener has any interest in. Yeah, he's a nice guy but you learn hardly anything since he spends so much time on irrelevant jibberish. Alece Glink and Kim Komando run circles around him, as well as Handle on the Law. Just like sports talk in ATL, this listener market somehow supports these useless shows. This show would never last in a real radio market.

I do agree with you on the travel part of the show. That's when I usually hit the button and turn the show off.
The devil is in the details.....that's why he must talk about details when people call with problems.
I have learned an amazing amount of useful information over the years from Clark. If you had someone with business/finance/money smarts to teach you the ropes then you're lucky. Most of us are not so lucky
I love Kim Komando and Bill "You Have No Case" Handel too. Their shows are also unique and perform a valuable service.
Howard is heard in many markets.....I think he does well in most. CNN is certainly a national platform.....they seem to think Clark is marketable outside of Atlanta.
BTW.....what qualifies as a "real" market in your imagination??

Clark is just fine...not preachy like Dave Ramsey and also I like that he doesn't do endorsements, again unlike Ramsey. He seems to do well in several "real" radio markets.

Apparently the 9th market in the country is not "real" enough. But whatever market Clark is NOT on in, even if it were Casper, WY, probably is. And 20-something years with WSB is nothing to sneeze at. IIRC, that is longer than Boortz by a couple of years.

BTW.....what qualifies as a "real" market in your imagination??

Real in the sense that listeners won't support shows that offer little useful information and won't waste time on jibberish and weak attempts at humor. Listening to Clark is painful, C&C, Bortz are all useless. I can't believe people can be entertained by shows that teach you nothing useful or, at the least, be even moderately entertaining.

Seriously? You think Clark Howard offers "nothing useful"? Are you listening to the same Clark Howard we all are? I have utmost respect for Clark and enjoy listening when I can. He has saved my family money and he's completely genuine. That in and of itself is something useful in today's society.
