Its been reported that Cumulus has expressed interest in buying CBS radio, if that happens Cumulus will have 3 stations targeting the same general demo 25 to 49 year olds, KRTH, KCBS, and KLOS, if that happens, what station would flip, I could not imagine Cumulus owning 3 stations that target the same demo, and I'm also certain Cumulus would be over their ownership limit, so who would buy the stations Cumulus would own? Saul from KKGo? Bonneville? Just askin.

IF...IF...Cumulus bought CBS L.A., they'd have two AMs (KABC and KNX), unless they also wanted to buy KFWB from the trust, then they'd have three.
There would be six FMs (93.1, 94.7, 95.5, 97.1, 101.1 and 106.7), which would put them over the limit by one. As to which you sell or flip...that involves a whole lot of variables. Frankly, I don't know why you couldn't (and wouldn't want to) have KRTH, KCBS and KLOS, with a minor tweak to KCBS and/or JACK to make them more complementary and less competitive.
There's no such thing as having too much of the big money demo.

Buying CBS radio is a big bite to swallow for a company not exactly earlobe-deep in money.
Also, if it's not too indelicate, I'd like to point out that Rich posted that on June 23rd of last year....six and a half months ago.

I agree with Mister 36james. The last post on that page says the deal is "going down" in quarter 1 of 2013. Is that the quarter that began on January 1? And is that when KTWV was supposedly joinging the CBS Sports Radio Network? And the Cumulus-buying-CBS rumors are at least seven months old. Do we have any official statements from anyone who actually works for Cumulus or CBS? Do we have any names instead of just "the rumor mill"?
As for Mister hagerty's conjecture about Cumulus owning three stations---KABC, KFWB and KNX---with all the infomercials and syndicated programs that run on KABC and KFWB, I would hardly classify KABC and KFWB as "stations." Radio stations are licensed to "serve the public interest" and I don't see that the public is interested in those two.

I was answering 36james' question about whether such a deal, if it happened, would put Cumulus over the ownership cap in Los Angeles. They can own 3 AMs and 5 FMs, so they could, if they were looking to own all they can, pull the second AM that CBS owned out of the trust and have three.
As to whether you'd classify KABC and KFWB as stations...that doesn't matter as long as the FCC does.

You're right, of course. It's sad that KABC and KFWB have around 500 syndicated programs that give investment advice but here I am with no money to invest.
