If Free goes Fresh...

If what I am hearing is true and WCKG flips to a "Fresh" type format, (ie...WWFS, NYC), will they also copy the NON personality presentation and "annonimous" air talent strategy or will they make it a contender and put up a formitable affront to WTMX and WLIT?

You can probably guess where my chips are, but CBS hasn't made the most inspired programming decisions of late.

If they do go with a, NYC Fresh music approach and a personality presentation, who would you guess would make the most impact, talent wise to do battle for the 25-49 female demo?

The way CBS has made most format flips out of retreads, I wouldn't be surprised if the ultimate format on 105.9 is classic rock.

I don't think CBS Radio is that stupid though. With WLUP, WDRV/WWDV, WERV, and WXRT already in the market, doing classic rock on 105.9 would be beyond insane.

And the replacement formats on "101.5 Jamz" in Phoenix, "Sophie @ 103.7" in San Diego, and "XYT" in Detroit are not retreads.
