if I can vent about one thing with the Big Show

... I do like this show for the most part, complaining aside... except when Larry Johnson is on. But there is one thing I've been finding increasingly weak and those are the "comedy bits" (Britt's bits?) that they use coming back from break. They're flat-out not funny and, for one, his impression of Pete Sheppard doesn't sound anything like him... I remember when the Sports Huddle had comedy bits--they were hilarious (anyone remember the "Yawkey Jeans" commercial?). One of these days, I should make an MP3 of them and upload it so people can check it out...

well i happen to disagree with you i like toses bits ive been listening to weei for alot of years and i get all the inside jokes which is wy i probrobly the reason y i like petes bits. its ok to have an opion cheers

WEEI is a hit/miss powerhouse. During Big O's state-of-the-station address Thurs. afternoon he said as much. They care about total audience: that's it. His remarks were brought on by a critic's piece which I didn't bother to read. He said they tried to be a sports station and failed (he took the blame).

So, you hit the preset a lot. Because there will always be stuff you don't like. But the Red Sox are there --sometime-- and they have good Pats info. You just work around everything else (and I do).

Do you mean the Pete Gustin bits? I haven't noticed a marked increase in them, but I probably wasn't paying attention. I agree wholeheartedly about Larry Johnson. He's been on way too much lately. I hope it's because so many people were in Fort Meyers. Since they canceled the Saturday morning mess, Lame Larry's appearances have been rare. I wish they would just cut the cord. When he's not on for a while and then he shows up, it makes you realize how pathetic he is.

The Big Show has improved vastly since he stopped making weekly appearances.

The very non-PC Lappen's bit is one of the better bits I've ever listened to -- but I have weird tastes.
