If I could do this to country radio I would

I would turn all those 1000+ country stations into smooth jazz and all the current smooth jazz into country. It's just a musical pleasure thought but I know it wouldn't work out billing wise. But wouldn't it be cool if they were all smooth jazz? Think of KATQ 100.1 in Plentywood, MT being smooth jazz and that would be the only station you could get besides their AM in that area.

I just don't care for country as much as I do smooth jazz and hot AC.

I am not sure why you've posted this but I am more of a country fan than a jazz fan and when I listen to jazz I want to hear artists of the 50s and 60s like Dizzy Gillespie, Chet Baker, Dave Brubeck, Miles Davis and all. So I feel about Cool Jazz much as a lot of people here feel about New Country.

Cool Jazz / Smooth jazz seems to me to be the beautiful music of this decade and not meant for serious listening. I don't hate it but I won't buy it either.

Mr. Icy,
If you would do that you would quickly go BROKE. WHY would you accomodate ONLY your own taste and ignore (and greatly ANGER) the country listeners? Selfish, aren't you?

PS I bet those country people wouldn't respond to your calls and letters, either.

Also, you said, "that would be the only station you could get besides their AM in that area."

I don't think so. We will soon find out. I e-mailed Jim Bender, President of said Plentywood, MT radio station and asked him for a "dial scan."

We Shall see.

Jim Bender who runs the Plentywood radio station told me...
"HD radio in my Jeep Grand Cherokee. The topography, season, and time of day all affect radio reception in Plentywood, Montana. The town is mostly located in the river valley, where FM reception is limited to the locals, KATQ-FM and KCGM (FM). From higher ground, one can received FM's from Sidney, Montana, and Williston, North Dakota. During daytime hours, AM reception includes KATQ-AM, and a number of high-power Canadian AM stations. I don't recall any other AM stations that we could reliably receive."

Plentywood has 1600 people. 2500 in the county.
