If KTWV was programmed by Mike Vasquez or Bill Harmonic would it be better?

If Mike Vasquez of KIFM became program director of KTWV would The Wave sound more like KIFM? Would Mike Vasquez kept Don Burns and Bryan Mcnight? Would Mike Vasquez keep The Wave music mix interesting? I'm sure if Bill Harmonic had the opportunity to program KTWV he would make The Wave sound unique and interesting.

I feel that Joynie Kaye should be fired becuase he is running a herritage station into the ground. Even Carol Archer agrees with me. Joynie Kaye has no idea what he is doing.

Jhani Kaye is one of the country's best PDs. He kept KOST in the very top tier 25-54 for more years than would be thought possible. He rebuilt KRTH into a sales-viable station after it had declined in ratings and become a mostly 55+ format. His task today is to make what was also the very old-leaning KTWV into a new form or variant of adult contemporary so that it can again have sales demo appeal.

Also keep in mind that Jhani is doing what the station owners want him to do. He's not going to be fired for doing what he was asked to do!

Keep in mind that KIFM is hovering around 12th, on average, in sales demos, and was also about 12th in billings in the market last year. I don't think CBS, in the more competitive LA market, wants to have KTWV 20th or so in billings...

KTWV will Die off soon.

Hope you're right, because it's real dreck!

Rumor has it that the PPM numbers are being artifically tweaked in order for KTWV to appear more popular than it really is.

Doesn't surprise me.

Terrestrial just as crooked as Wall Street and Washington DC!!!

Harmonic, yes. Vasquez has an ear for instrumentals but KIFM plays way too many 30-40 year old pop vocal songs. This is an issue all around because since BA eliminated NAC vocals in favor of pop, oldie, and R&B crossovers (and label priorities) 15 years ago there is no longer a group of strong songs of that type that have a familarity base and there has obviously been no artist development or cultivation of that type of song as far as mature jazzy-pop influenced vocalists. The songs are out there but you have to find them and commit to them and depend on listener rather than industry validation.
