If Noone Will, I Will!

With regards to 12+, WITHOUT posting numbers, since everyone knows where to find them plus I'll get edited if I do (lol):

100.7's hanging on. Good. They're slowly, and maybe not with all ducks in a row, finding a displaced but slightly wiser audience, and hopefully promoting the hell out of the '60s and '70s, same as....

99.9, which is gaining. Even better. Tripled their 12+ audience from a year ago, and those free shows HAVE to be doing some good!
(Hey Tony; you have your Promo Dept spraying the Gator logo all over Jax during these gigs?)

96.1 is up there; no worries.

930 FOX, HOT, etc. are holding on.

One thing about Rooster though; if CC goes JACK or 'anything goes', would Gator pick up that audience, or would it simply migrate to WQIK? Or could we see a CC oldies outlet, like KLOU in STL?

I guess now is a good a time as any...it would appear WOKV should move to #1 in the next trend given Hurricane Katrina. Interesting that talk formats so often depend on some type of tragedy to deliver a substantial audience jump.

Personally, I'm glad to see the Point doing better and if the format continues as is, I think they will continue to make some nice (but small) audience increases. Potentially, WKQL could be doing better as there is an audience for the format - but with virtually no promotion dollars spent...the numbers are within expectation I'm sure.

Not a fair accessment....their first book in Jax was Spring 2005. Before that the signal was not covering this market. So, yes, they are gaining, but you can't base it on what happened a year ago.
Edited by motherscratcher on 09/02/05 11:45 AM.

Well, with 99.9 being a fringe/rimshot from Palatka/Daytona before they moved to Jax this year, they still showed up in the 12+ in market 49, which means someone was listening, right? There were people willing to listen through the static and tropo, and now that they're a local covering the Jax metro, that should help push their numbers up not only 12+ which are useless, but also in their target demos, with adequate promotion and street work.

Not saying you're wrong; just wanted to clarify my earlier post. I know radio works in mysterious ways, and the listener/support base is no different.
